Our Tuesday in Alaska was train ride day from Denali National Park to Fairbanks, Alaska. Wednesday was spent in Fairbanks. These pictures are from those two days. Thursday was a travel day from Fairbanks to Anchorage and we did not take many picture that day.
We capped it off with a visit to Alaska Salmon Bake just around the corner from our hotel.
Wednesday included a trip up the river on a riverboat.
Along the route we stopped and watched a sled dog demonstration at the kennels of the late Susan Butcher. She won the Iditarod dog sled race four times! Her daughter told us about the dogs and then gave us a demonstration. It was way cool. Those dogs love to run!
The visit to a replica of a typical native America Indian village was really neat and very informative.
This was an ingenious contraption to catch salmon which was a huge part of their diet.
Plus a visit to North Pole, Alaska.
Wednesday ended with a second trip to the Alaska Salmon Bake. Yes, it was that good.
Thanks for reading.
