Weekend Woundup and Weview September 28

Our post from this weekend is heavy on pictures because we have a lot to show you. Thursday when I posted about a few of the maintenance and repair projects that had been completed, I forgot to mention another one that was in the works. When we arrived in Richton I notice that the lift in the tent trailer was hanging a little lopsided. On closer inspection a stop on one corner was hanging low because of a weld that was breaking.

Pastor Scott Morris had one of his men from the church come out and take a look at it and it a few minutes Bro. Donnie Dunnam had it welded as good as new!

After it cooled, I cleaned it up and sprayed a little paint on it.

Another man from First Assembly donated a very nice generator to Boggs Family Ministries to be used for City Reach. Bro. Carroll Walters bought it new to use after Katrina and had used it very little since then. He changed the oil, adjusted the valves, cleaned it up and checked everything out and had it brought to the tent. It is awesome!

It produces 7500/6000 watts and can handle the whole load of the tent including the extra sound equipment and the extra lights. The dependable 4000/3100 watt generator I have been using for years was maxed out before I added the new section and equipment so this is a welcome and needed addition. I really appreciate Bro. Walters and his family for their thoughtfulness and generosity.

Friday morning Bro. Scott helped me and Kelly Jo organize the trailer in order to be ready to load the chairs and other tent stuff after service Friday night. This saves us quite a bit of time after church.

We had a tremendous final night of City Reach Richton on Friday. The crowd was great and God moved in a mighty way in the altar service. As Odie said it truly was a grande finale. Praise God for His help all week long. It really was a super great meeting.

We appreciate Pastor Scott Morris and his church for having us in Richton for tent revival again this year. They work so hard and God certainly gives the increase. It is always good to work with Bro. Scott. He has a passion to have church and help people and it really comes through! I am glad that God put us together.

Friday night.

The tent was too wet to take down after church but we packed up all the chairs, took down the banners, wires and most of the lights. Every one jumped right in and it was all done in about 30 minutes.

We left one strand of lights up for the night.

We took the tent down completely dry Saturday afternoon. Once it was down we parked it at First Assembly, hooked the Green Machine to the BoggsMobile and headed toward Mobile. We pulled into Tanner Williams Holiness Church about 5:00 PM.

We set up and went to bed as early as we could. After a good night's rest we set up the sound Sunday morning and had two great services to kick off the Homecoming revival.

Pastor Donnie Williamson and Sis. Gayla are some of the best people in the world and we are blessed to have them as friends. God has used Bro. Donnie to encourage us for years and we are blessed to be with them again this year.

It started raining Sunday and rained cats and dogs all afternoon. We bundled up in rain gear and ran Odie to church Sunday evening and the parking lot was one big poodle! It has rained pretty much all night and is supposed to keep it up a couple of days. They need the rain but the animals lining up two by two has everyone spooked down here.

That pretty much sums up our wonderful weekend. I hope you had a good weekend too. God bless you for reading.
