We intended to leave the Orange/Anaheim area as early as possible Monday morning but I knew that three factors would probably slow us down. Number one, the rush hour traffic is absolutely horrible. Number two there was heavy rain over the entire LA area. Number three, the RV Park we were in was super tight and I knew it was going to take some time to wiggle out. I neglected to snap a picture of the weather map but this is a picture of the traffic.
Red means that traffic is pretty much at a stand still and nearly all the interstates and freeways were completely red! We were at the blue dot and were were leaving the city on upper land hand side of the map! We waited two hours and both the weather and the traffic were much, much better.
We hit rain again as we reached the mountains and it was perilous driving for several miles. It was a beautiful drive though.
We parked at the church in Atwater when we arrived and then we headed over to Bro. Cliff and Sis. Cindy Burris' house for a fantastic meal and fellowship with the whole Burris family. We had a wonderful evening. Have I ever told you how much we love these folks?
Kelly Jo and Odie went to do laundry Tuesday morning and then we had another great meal Tuesday afternoon at Bro. Jared and Sis. Valerie's house. We spent a couple of hours catching up since we had seen them last in December.
Before we knew it the time had come to go back to the bus and prepare for service Tuesday night. The service was terrific and we enjoyed being with everyone so very much. We love Bro. Jared and his folks and love it when we can be in their church and drink in their fellowship. It was a great night.
Pastor Anthony Munoz called Tuesday and invited us to preach at Souls Harbor, so we will be with dear friends again tonight. That is something we are definitely looking forward too.
Thanks for reading.
