Weekend Woundup and Weview 4/30/18

The weekend started early Friday morning for us. We had many things that had to be completed at the house before we left. I was amazed at all I was able to accomplish by 7:30 AM. It was a great morning. We all worked hard and by dark Friday night most everything was completed.

I appreciate Mom, Dad, Steve, Lisa and Kelly Jo working hard on Friday. Bro. Larry Landress had some work to do on the concrete and he worked diligently on that as well. I was real happy with the whole day.

Odie's dishwasher was delivered Friday.

We will wait until later to purchase most of the appliances but we needed this one so the plumber can hook it up.

Here are a few pictures of Friday's work in action.

I had a few more things to do in the house Saturday morning and then we prepared to run down the road. Shortly after Bro. Larry and Sis. Rosemary left, we followed them out.

I was way too sleepy when we pulled out, but I gained a second wind and drove all but about 100 miles of the trip to Bristol before stopping for a nap. When I did stop, I napped for over 90 minutes. Wow! That felt good!

The BoggsMobile pulled into Grace Tabernacle in Bristol, Virginia a few minutes after 7:00 PM Saturday night. We had traveled 404 miles from the Lazy OD Ranch to the church.

Bro. Switzer came to help us load in and get sound check. After that was completed we settled down to a pretty good night's rest. I woke up ready for a great Sunday.

It is great to be back at Grace Tabernacle with Pastor David Horton and Pastor Michael Switzer and all of the folks. Our last visit here was for a Sunday in June of last year. It is wonderful and refreshing to be back here in revival.

God blessed us and the church with two great services Sunday. The church responded wonderfully and I am thankful for that. I love watching people grab hold of the word of God and cling to His promises. It encourages me to do the same!

We are looking for a great week of revival here in Bristol. Pray for us if you think of it and believe God to help His people.

Thank you for reading today.

View Out The Front Window April 29, 2018

This was our view out the bus window shortly after we arrived at the Lazy OD Ranch on Sunday.

I took this picture Saturday morning from near the road.

Do you notice anything different about the house? We think the driveway, porches and sidewalk are beautiful to behold. What a view!

We arrived in Bristol, Virginia before dark Saturday evening and Kelly Jo took these pictures standing outside in front of the bus.

The first one is straight ahead as if you are looking through the windshield.

This one is turned to the left a bit.

This is a panoramic taking in the whole view including the back of the church.

Here are all the links to our posts from the last week. Please take a moment to check them out.

Thank you for dropping by today. I hope you have a blessed Sunday.

Trash Or Treasure

Hey Friends,

Happy Saturday, this is Odie checking in from the road. The BoggsMobile is headed to Bristol, Virginia. Revival begins tomorrow at Grace Pentecostal Holiness Tabernacle. We are excited to see Pastor David and Sis. Brenda Horton and Pastor Michael and Sis. Tonya Switzer and the rest of our friends at Grace. We always have a fabulous time with them.

It was great to be home in Ohio this week. This was a productive week at the Lazy OD Ranch. So many projects were being worked on for the home that is being built for me to live in. It is amazing to see things nearing completion. Many people have worked hard to make it all possible. I am eternally grateful to all of them. I will never be able to thank them properly.

Sunday evening I was able to see the countertops in person for the first time. Oh my goodness, I love the way it pulls the kitchen together! It looks so crisp and complete.

I am reminiscing today. Many families have an heirloom that is loved although it is not always something of great monetary value. Others may say your prized possession is worthless. It may not be worth a thin dime, but to you it is important and carries special meaning.

The old saying is, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”.  Here is an example.

My Mamaw purchased a blanket at a yard sale for 50¢ when I was a baby. It is so comfortable and comforting. I have many memories of snuggling and napping with this blanket as a child.

Mamaw says she bought it just as another blanket for me to have at her house. It was only one half dollar 32 years ago and it could sell for no more now. But it is not for sale!

It was a well-spent 50¢. Mamaw has gotten her money’s worth out of it. It has served 7 grandchildren with a ton of use and abuse.

32 years later that baby blanket is “The Blanket” at Mamaw's house. Once and awhile we pull it out of the closet and cover up with it. It brings back memories from my childhood.

I have other things that are of great value to me and yet others place no value on them at all. The fact the Jesus Christ gave his life for my sin and arose from the dead so that I could have abundant life, is one of those things.

There are those that cast away an opportunity for salvation without a second thought. They estimate my treasure as trash. What a tragic mistake.

My baby blanket is not worth anything in this world even though it is precious to me. I understand that. But those that underestimate the value of salvation, will one day wish they had found the treasure that will last for eternity.

There is unspeakable joy in serving God. Search for the pearl of great price. His name is Jesus and He is the highest treasure in the world.

Thanks for reading my reminiscing and musing. I am glad you dropped by for a visit. Have a good weekend.

I intended to post this morning with a full description of these amazing guys pouring the porch, sidewalk and driveway, but I ran out of time. I will have to get to it later. Here are four pictures to show you a little progress.

It Is Starting To Look Solid Around The House

Wow! It is starting to look solid around the house!

I will have a full post later with a description of the whole process and all the of the people that have been working hard on the concrete. For now I will tell you that Larry Landress, Todd Thompson, Trevor Metheny and David Butler worked diligently yesterday to finish the porches. The porches are beautiful!

These guys and others are working hard but we are laughing a lot along the way too. At times we laugh and work and other times we stop working to laugh. We are having a good time. There may or may not have been a trip or two to Acapulco thrown in too.

Like I said, I will post many more pictures later, but here are a few picture from yesterday evening to wet your appetite.

This morning they plan to form the sidewalk and driveway. They will pour them this afternoon by God's grace. It looks so good now that I can not imagine how good it will look when they are finished.

It is time for me to get with it! Thanks for stopping in.

Vintage View Vednesday September 2003 Allen Pentecostal Church

Through the years we have met some great people that belong to the family of God. When we pastored a church in Wichita, Kansas we met Bro. Kurt and Sis. Angie McCrorey. They lived in Missouri and we became great friends the first opportunity we had to spend time with them.

God has blessed us with wonderful friends and these are some of the choicest. They still play a huge part in our lives and ministry although we do not get to see them near enough the last few years. Bro. Kurt serves on the board of Boggs Family Ministries and prays for us diligently.

They pastored the Allen church a few miles west of Branson, Missouri for a few years and we loved preaching revival for them. Our family was a part of several revivals at Allen and these pictures are from revival in September 2003 I believe.

These were probably all taken during fellowship after church. They include a few of the Allen folks and a few visitors.

I hope you enjoy Vintage View Vednesday.
