Singing At Sea 2020 Wrap Up

Hey Friends,

This is Odie reporting in from the road.  Right now the BoggsMobile is on the move from Texas to Alabama. We had a fantastic week with Pastor Don Goodwin and our dear friends at Beech Creek Assembly. We always enjoy our visits to Livingston, Texas.

Tomorrow revival begins in Foley, Alabama. We are anticipating a great week with Pastor Eddy Sullivan and the congregation of Bibleway Assembly. We will be in revival at Bibleway through  Friday. If you are in the area please join us in service.

Singing at Sea 2020 Wrap Up

Last week I posted about my vacation with my friend Kaylene Stevens. We had a blast on the Singing At Sea 2020! If you missed the first post, then click here for more information. Thanks to all of you that let me know that you enjoyed the pictures! Now I am back with more pictures from the trip.

Thursday morning we woke up as the ship was arriving in Costa Maya, Mexico. We were excited to get off the ship and see Costa Maya. This was a new port for both of us. I had seen beautiful pictures of the port in my general research of cruising, but Costa Maya was not a scheduled port for our cruise. I did not study out scooter accessible activities in this port since we had not planned to be there. I am happy that Costa Maya is now on my list of visited ports.

We were able to enjoy gorgeous scenery and the shops near the ship. The water was bright blue it was truly an amazing thing to see. The weather was very good that day. Costa Maya was a great port and I would gladly visit there again.

After a few hours in the port, we boarded the ship for our final time. The rest of Thursday was spent enjoying sunshine, food and lots of great music.

Thursday night I felt a tap on my shoulder and I looked up to find my cousin Edith standing there.  We were both shocked to find each other. It was so cool to see some of my family on the ship.  My cousins Edith and Rhonda were sailing with their husbands.  Now I know that they are fellow Singing at Sea lovers.

These are my cousins on the Boggs side of our family. I usually see them at the Boggs Reunion in Kentucky. It was neat to see them on the ocean! It quickly became a highlight of my trip. I hope to see them again on another cruise.

Friday was our last full day on the Brilliance of the Seas.  It was a sea day as we traveled back to Tampa, Florida. The schedule was full of activities all day.  It was a busy day because we tried to savor every moment of the cruise. We spent a lot of the day listening to music, eating and visiting with our friends on the ship. I was sad for the day to end because that meant vacation would soon be history.

Saturday morning we arrived back in Tampa Bay, Florida. Disembarking the ship went smoothly and pretty quick. We took a shuttle back to the airport.

Soon it was time to say goodbye to my friend Kaylene. We had a fabulous week together! Kaylene, Thanks for putting up with me for a third cruise.  I appreciate your friendship and all your help. I am already anticipating our next adventure.

Thank God we both traveled safely back to our destination on Saturday night. The flights were smooth and everything went as planned. That is what I call a wonderful travel day.

This was my Fourth Singing at Sea. I sailed on the cruise in 2012, 2015, 2017 and now 2020. I recommend adding this cruise to your bucket list if you love all things southern gospel music and cruising. Jeff Templeton and Templeton Tours do a fantastic job putting the cruise together. Here are the final pictures from Singing at Sea 2020. Thanks for reading.
