A Word For Wednesday (2)

Welcome to A Word For Wednesday. You can read the text below and or watch the video version on our YouTube Chanel https://youtube.com/c/boggsfamilyministries

Isaiah 46:9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

I wrote yesterday about spending a few days in Vonore, Tennessee with Jeff Rowe at East Tennessee Luxury Coach. I typed the following paragraph and my mind has been pondering it ever since.

The BoggsMobile is a 1995 Prevost XL built in early 95. It was converted over the next several months into a motorhome in Sanford, Florida and is titled as a 1996. We are the third owner and we purchased it in March 2008.

I am a firm believer that the God we serve is all knowing AND that our God has a plan for us that we are mostly ignorant about. We have no way of knowing what lies ahead and we can not be faulted for that.

However, God does know.

In 1994 a businessman in California was shopping for a bus/motorhome. For reasons only he knows, he decides to order an empty bus shell from Prevost like he wanted it and then shop the conversion to several converters. It is exactly reverse from the way it is usually done, but that was his route.

The bus shell was built and delivered in early 1995 to Featherlite in Sanford, Florida. It was converted over the course of that year and finished in late 95. It was titled as a 1996 Prevost Vantare and delivered to the purchaser.

He keeps it and drives it a few years and then he sells it or trades it away. The second owner was a businessman in Texas. He keeps it a few years and then trades it on a newer used bus at Florida Luxury Coach about 1/2 from where it was converted in Sanford, Florida.

The bus sits on that lot for a year or so before we notice it and begin a months long process of lowball offers and rejections until they finally call me and offer to sell it for my original offer.

We drive to Sanford, look it over and make another offer. They reject that with a counteroffer that we accept. Later that week we drive away with white knuckles, frazzled nerves and a fearful heart.

The rest is history and has been well documented here on Mile Markers.

This is what I have been pondering since I wrote the italicized paragraph way up the page.

While OUR bus was being planned, purchased, converted and delivered, what were we doing in 1994-1996? I did not know a thing about what was going on in California and Sanford, Florida. I could not have even dreamed I would need a bus or own a bus years later.

In 1994 and early 1995 I was working as a trim carpenter and electrician for a contractor in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. We were renting the ground floor of an old house in Franklin, Ohio and in March of 1995, we rented a two bedroom house in the country near Miamisburg, Ohio.

Work was steady enough to keep our bills paid and we were trying to save toward purchasing a house. We were living week to week, working lots of hours, going to church faithfully and trying to keep our head above water both financially and emotionally.

I had no idea or even dreams that we would evangelize again. It was not even on the radar. As far as I could envision, I would be right there in Dayton, Ohio, enjoying life and working in our home church 30 years later.

In April 1995 I hired in at GM in Dayton, working on the assembly line at Truck and Bus. At times, I dared to think I might work there until I retired someday.

While the BoggsMobile was being converted I was filling Blazers, Jimmys and Bravadas with transmission fluid, putting on wheel coverings, pinstripes, adjusting headlights and driving them off the line.

This what I want you to see.
God knew we would find this bus.
God knew we would purchase this bus.
God knew we would drive this bus hundreds of thousands of miles.
God knew we would live in this bus and love this bus.
God knew this bus would be home.
He knew it would be the ultimate BoggsMobile.

I did not have a clue. I was too busy working. I was too busy trying to keep up. I was too busy living life and fulfilling my obligations in the moment.

While I was busy, God was preparing something for me that would be a tremendous blessing to me and my family.

Did the original owner see that?

Did Prevost in Canada see that?

Did Featherlite in Sanford, Florida see that?

Did I see that?

No, No, No and No!

But, I can see it clearly now!

This is what I want you to take away from this. It is entirely possible that God is working blessings in my life and that God is working blessings in your life that you and I know absolutely nothing about right now.

We are busy trying to keep our heads above water. We are completely involved in the here and now and that is absolutely OK. We are working, we are struggling, we are striving to make it through today and tomorrow and next week.

Hey! That is fine. That is what it takes. We are in a pandemic. We are in unprecedented times. We have never walked this road before. We are dealing with sickness and death in ways we have not experienced in our lives.

It is OK for us to be preoccupied with today, with here and now. That is understandable.

But, please, please, believe me, friend! It is entirely possible and highly probable that God is working a plan right now for blessings to come to you and to me in our future!

You can not see it.

I can not see it.

Other people involved can not see it.

But God sees it! He knows the end from the beginning. In your difficulty, God is working. In your despair, God is working. In your darkest hour, God Is Still Working.

Even when you can not see it. Even when you have not dreamed it. Even when you can not imagine it. God is working right now and His work NOW will be manifested in you life at a later date! Hallelujah!

Isaiah 46:9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,

That is our Word For Wednesday. Thank you for joining us.
