Another week has come and gone and we are rushing into another week as fast as we can go. The weeks of 2021 have been piling up and we are already one week into June. Wow! That is almost unbelievable, but it is true.
Friday we drove about an hour to visit some old friends and my parents went with us. Over thirty years ago, we used to visit friends at a church in Blanchester, Ohio. We used to go to their regular services on Fridays and Pastor Raymond Smith was the Pastor also had us preach a few revivals in the 80s and early 90s.
We have not seen the young couples that we used to hang with from Blanchester for many, many years. We ate a lot of pizza together! Come to think of it, we ate a lot of pizza with lots of our friends back then!😊
Of course, they are not young anymore. Most of them probably have grandchildren now. One of the couples were Bro. Bob Sandlin and his wife Sis. Ella. Ella was one of Bro. Smith's daughters and they pastor a church in Five Mile, maybe twenty miles from Blanchester.
They have an annual meeting and this year they had it in a tent. I am kind of partial to services under a tent, so we eased over and sat outside the tent and enjoyed ourselves Friday night.
It was nice to see a tent that I was not responsible for keeping in the air!😍
Saturday was mowing day and we ate supper at Odie's with my parents. Thank you Ma and Pa for the visit and the meal. It was all good.
Sunday was mostly church plus a wonderful meal from KJo and a short nap. We attended both great services at Dryden Rd and it was good to be there.
It was a treat to hear Bro. Larry Thomas preach Sunday night. We always love having him at Dryden. Bro. Thomas pastored 54 years in east Dayton. He has been a friend to our family and to our church.
That pretty much wraps up our weekend. Thank you for stopping by today.
Davy
