Monday evening after supper we loaded in the Jeep and drove to Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park. The bus is parked at Bible Holiness Church in Elkton, less than 6 miles from the entrance.
This is one of our favorite scenic drives. It is easily accessible, the views are spectacular even on hazy days and we almost always see wildlife along the way. What is not to love about that?
It is part of the National Park system so there is an entrance fee. It is $30 for a seven day pass, but when Odie is with us we use her Golden Access Pass to get in at no charge.
The Skyline Drive is 105 miles and it runs along the ridge of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Every inch of it is beautiful. When we only have a couple of hours, we enter from US 33 and drive north about 15 miles to Big Meadows and turn around.
That is what we did Monday evening and we snapped a few pictures for you to enjoy the drive with us. Thank you for coming along.

Thanks for the ride, we usually go to the Big Meadows for a bite even if it's just Pat & I. Now my Grandmother use to live @ Lewis Mountain which is between South River & Big Meadows as a matter of fact it's been told that she'd owned Lewis Mountain & gave it away to the parkway. Excitedly shall see Ya later, YoFrankie.
