Prayer Request
Pastor EJ Lamb from Ohio was in a serious car accident with his family Saturday. Thank God they were not hurt any more seriously than they were, but it was bad enough. Please pray for them, especially our dear friend, Reese.
Friday
Did you see all of the great pictures from Good Samaritan Youth Camp last week? You can follow the highlighted link to see them. I hope you enjoy. The camp was so good.
The Weekend Dispatch
Friday began early and followed a late night Thursday at youth camp. We rolled out of the bed and went to work preparing to roll our wheels. By 7:30 AM we were navigating our way out of the tricky exit. Thank God we made it, but it is not something I would like to do every week.
We did not hook up the car because of the potential of getting hung up and having to back up to get out. We stopped at a truck stop a few miles down the road and hooked up the Jeep.
We drove a few hours to the Texas Welcome Center on I-20 and then stopped to rest for a while. After two hours, the generator would not cooperate so we started the bus and ran the bus air conditioner for a while. It was near 100 degrees in east Texas.
I have never seen a restaurant accessible from a state-run rest area, but there was one there yesterday.
KJo went in and fetched a menu for us and we ordered a nice meal.
I had intended to rest most of the day and finish our journey Saturday morning, but without the generator running properly, we decided to press on. By His grace, we pulled into Payne Springs Assembly at 5:30 Friday evening.
This is our first time here, but parking was pretty easy. In a few minutes, we were inside cooling down and relaxing for the evening. Praise God!
KJo and I are very glad to be here this weekend. This is where we were headed to this church on January 26th of this year when my breathing deteriorated to the point that I could not go on. I canceled Pastor RC Betz and three other weeks in order to recuperate.
All of the Pastors were completely gracious and I appreciate Bro. Betz welcoming us back. We were only 140 miles from here in January, when we had to turn away. Yes, we are very glad to be here!
We enjoyed three wonderful services over the weekend, Saturday night and both services Sunday. Praise God for visitors in the altar seeking salvation Sunday morning. Hallelujah! The church also had a meal after the morning service and we got a chance to visit with the church folks.
We will post more pictures from the Weekend Revival tomorrow, but we have a few for you now.
After church last night, we loaded up our equipment, cranked the bus with intentions to hook up the Jeep and hit the road toward Oklahoma. I wanted to drive to Gainesville, Texas and make Monday an easy day.
Pastor Betz alerted us to severe weather headed for Dallas and once we checked it out, we decided there was not much sense driving right into very threatening weather. We re-leveled the bus, turned it off and prepared for bed.
We will have to face Dallas traffic on a weekday. I wanted to avoid that, but it is what it is! As you read this, we will probably be neck deep into it. Maybe we will zoom right through.
Thank you for stopping by.
Davy
