The Weekend Dispatch 3/25/24

We have had a wonderful weekend. I felt more normal than I have in nearly 3 months. Or at least more consistently normal with several pretty good days in a row. We have been with family, friends and our church folks all weekend long.

The main focus of this weekend was church, including the first three nights of revival at Dryden Road beginning Thursday night. We will have more pictures of revival later, but here are a few to get you started.

Brother Michael Switzer has preached outstanding. It has been so good to see him again and to enjoy the Lord speaking into my heart through his ministry. Praise God.

I told him I felt a little twinge of guilt in my heart when I saw him. I was supposed to preach a revival for him and Brother David Horton this week before the cataclysmic change in our schedule. We absolutely love being in revival with them in Bristol, Virginia.

It was a great blessing to us this week to hear the word of God and respond in the altar and feel the touch of God in our lives. The revival was a great encouragement to us.

I mentioned last week that I spent a few hours messing with the BoggsMobile and I enjoyed that very much.

I am sure that Odie will tell you about it at some point, but she spent two evenings with cousins enjoying their fellowship and listening to great singing.

We enjoyed a rare day on Thursday. Kelly‘s parents and my parents visiting all of us at Odie‘s house on the same day. We really enjoyed that.

The Stansells were here too. Bro Rick and Bro Timmy were helping us with some tasks on the Lazy OD Ranch that we could not do ourselves. They are really super folks!

Friday, March 22, we broke out the mower in 40 degree weather. The grass was about to get away from us so KJo mowed some of it over three weeks earlier than normal. Ouch!

The mower is not running exactly right so we will have to deal with that at some point.

Earlier Friday was my last scheduled day of therapy.

There were tears all around between us and some of the therapists that have been helping me since the beginning. We are so glad to be finished with therapy for now, but we will miss these kind people.

We provided pizza for them and the nursing staff on my last day of inpatient therapy on January 15. Kelly went and got pizza for all the therapists on Friday. I did not even lay my eyes on it but I sure could smell it in every hallway I was in.😳😍

Over the last couple of weeks, I have taken pictures of most of my main therapists. I will write more about them and show you their pictures a little later.

Sunday we ventured out to preach again. This time for Pastor Wade Hicks and the great folks at West Harrison Pentecostal Church an inch or two over the line in Indiana. We had a wonderful Psalm Sunday with our friends.

I first went to West Harrison in 1987 to attend revival and hear the preacher who was preaching revival. I was 20 years old then and Pastor Wade Hicks was probably 37. I am now 57 and Bro. Hicks is a little older 😎 so we have been acquainted with him and the church for a long time.

Our long history with West Harrison gives us a comfortableness with them so it was a good place to preach the second sermon on my recovery tour. The Lord came to me as I was preaching and helped me. He also spoke a wonderful Word of comfort to my spirit. Hallelujah!!!

I will post more pictures from Sunday later in the week.

That wraps up the weekend. Thank you for going along for the ride.
