Happy 60th Birthda, Lisa

Hey Friends,

This is Odie coming to you this fine Saturday. I hope you are doing well. God has been so good to us this week. I am grateful for His daily blessings for our family.

For the November Saturday posts, I want to focus on people and things for which I am extra thankful. The link to last week's post is here, if you missed it.

Happy 60th Birthday, Lisa!

Today I am focused on an extraordinary person who is special to me! She is our cousin Lisa Isaacs. We are so thankful for Lisa Isaacs!I truly do not know what we would do without her. Sprinkled in this post a various Lisa pictures from my camera roll. She has a milestone birthday in just a few days.

November 12th 1964 the world became better with the birth of Lisa. She was the second child born to my Uncle Delmar and Aunt Connie. Lisa grew up to be a wonderful lady. In high school God changed her life. She has dedicated her life to living for him.

Lisa is happiest when she is helping others. She is an absolutely selfless person. Her goal is to make someone else day better!

She does so much for our entire family behind the scenes. If she hears of a need Lisa is first to offer her services of assistance.

I can not tell you how much she always helps me when I am home. When Dad was in the hospital and rehab she was always there for me. The first night she came to my house just to give me a hug and pray with me. She was extremely helpful in getting my home ready for my parents to stay with me.

Thank you and I love you, Lisa feels so hollow, but I mean those words with my whole heart! I can not truly express my love, gratitude and appreciation for this wonderful lady!

Lisa, happy 60th birthday! I want you to feel extra loved and celebrated for your milestone birthday! You are awesome and deserving of a fantastic birthday! May this be your best year of life yet!

Thank you for reading. Please leave a comment below with a birthday message for Lisa. I will make sure that she sees them! See you next time.

Davy’s November 8th Update

Hey Friends,

This is Odie with another Davy Update. Please do not stop praying! The prayers are working! We still have a very long way to go. Below is an update from yesterday.

We have something to praise God for today. Dad’s kidney function numbers have improved slightly. The tube they inserted Wednesday afternoon is working to drain the kidney, helping eliminate the source of the infection.

Also, they have targeted the specific bacteria that caused him to be septic and can target it with specific antibiotics. We are told it will be a two week treatment of these IV antibiotics.  They say at least 7 days of it in ICU, and we will see after that.
They will proceed with stone removal after the infection is gone and he is strong enough for it.

Dad is still not out of the woods and is still a very sick man. We are asking God for complete healing, including the damage from the stroke he suffered last December.

One thing remains true and solid… The Goodness of our God and the blessing of great friends.

God’s presence is here with Dad in an amazing way! There is obvious praise in His heart for our great God! One thing Dad knows for certain is, "He may not come when you want him, but he'll be there right on time"! We are trusting and believing in an always On Time God!

Uncle Steve and Aunt Karen and Bruce and Priscilla Mayhan have been some of the hands and feet of your prayers for us.
So many of you continue to pour out your well wishes and prayers and offers to do anything in the world for us if we name it. You all are fantastic friends. We know everyone can not be here. It would not be good wisdom.

Brother Bruce, Uncle Steve, and their wives have helped us with the strongest support you could ever imagine for us. God has used them for you for our benefit.
So thank you all immensely for your prayer and support!

Thank you for checking in for an update.

Davy’s Thursday November 7th Update

Hey Friends,

This is Odie with another report on my Dad’s health. Thank you for your continued prayers and concern for our family! We could never say thank you enough!

Mom and I are incredibly thankful for every call, text or email that checks on us. I constantly try to call and text family and close friends with updates, but I'm sure I am not doing a good job keeping everyone in the loop.

So far, I have been able to post one update a day on the blog. If you missed my previous post this week, please look back. Dad wrote a post on Monday requesting a prayer for himself. I have supplied updates for Tuesday and Wednesday.

Back at the hospital in Wichita, Kansas, Wednesday was a day full of activities. Dad remains in I.C.U. He is still very sick. The focus of yesterday was fighting the infection.

The infection has caused Dad to be very confused. Yesterday, Mom and my Uncle sang and read scriptures in Dad’s room. There were moments when he was grabbing a hold of God. He knew that is where his help comes from.

There was a portion of time that Dad was able to get some rest. That was an answer to prayer! His body needs much more rest, but I'm thankful for every moment of real sleep he can get.

In the afternoon they did a procedure to insert a tube directly into his kidney. Hopefully, the source of the infection will drain out through it. I thank God for bringing him safely through the procedure it was very rough with some respiratory trauma but quickly got him into better breathing.

They are continuing to treat him with strong I.V. antibiotics. We need the infection to clear up!

They have not yet been able to remove the large kidney stone causing the blockage because the infection is too bad. Hopefully, we will get more answers soon.

We need a miracle desperately! I would love to see God speak the word and all of the kidney stones and infection to disappear. also, for there to not be lasting damage to the kidneys.

We are praising God for every victory. Continuing to pray for complete healing and the help of the Lord. today, join me in praying for the doctors and nurses that are working hard attending to him. I pray for God to give them wisdom on how to give him the best treatment.

The Lord has given my Mom and I strength for each moment. Mom is a trooper. She is doing her best to stand by Dad’s side, devoted to his care.

We are 800 miles away from home in Wichita, KS but we  feel like we are at home because of all of the good support we have received.  I am thankful that Mom and I have not had to face this on our own. My Uncle Steve and Aunt Karen Boggs were here visiting in Wichita over the weekend. They extended their stay to be right by our sides. Their presence and help have been such a comfort to us! Some of our closest friends have also come to our aid in our time of need. Their friendship has been a great encouragement to us. We are definitely blessed!

See you next time with another update.

Davy’s Wednesday November 6th Update

Hey Friends,

This is Odie reporting in with another update on my Dad. Sorry, there is not A Word For Wednesday this week.

Dad has been sick since Sunday morning. We still desperately need God to move! If you missed our posts this week, Monday and Tuesday’s updates are here and here.

Thank you for all the prayers, calls and texts! Your love and friendship is amazing.  We love you and thank God for you!

Yesterday was a rough day. Dad is still in the hospital. The infection attacking his body from the lodged stone hindered them from treating the kidney stone right away. They moved him to I.C.U. for better care. He was very sick!

He received strong IV antibiotics. Mom and the nurses worked to make him comfortable and care for his every need.

We hope they will be able to focus on the  kidney stone treatment soon.

I am praying for these things today. Please join me in prayer.
1. Complete healing is our main prayer.
2. The infection to clear up.
3. Kidney stones to be gone.
4. Rest, strength and peace for both of my parents.

Thanks for checking on us.

Davy’s Tuesday November 5th Health Update

 Hey Friends,

This is Odie reporting in for a Tuesday update on my Dad. Here is the link to the post that he wrote for yesterday.

Thank you all for your prayers! I appreciate everyone who has checked on us to see how he is doing. Please keep the prayers coming! We value every single one!

As a lot of you know, my Dad has been suffering from what he thought were kidney stones. He suffered since early Sunday morning. We were grateful for every second of relief, but they were short lived.

He went to the ER yesterday afternoon in Wichita, Kansas. Tests verified that he has kidney stones and an infection.

Last night, he was transported to a bigger hospital within the same network. There he will hopefully receive more answers and treatment. As of right now, I do not know any more information to share with you.

Please join me in continued prayer for my Dad's quick recovery. Also pray for my mother, she is Dad’s  ever  faithful caregiver!

Pray For Me, Please!

The weekend dispatch is being preempted today by a serious prayer request. I woke up about 1:30 Sunday morning with a incredible pain in my left side. I did not sleep a wink after that. As the night progressed we came to the conclusion that is probably a kidney stone.

We found about 7 AM that a hot compress would dull the pain a little bit. I spent most the day with that on my side. All in all I had about 20 hours of horrible pain and some up-and-down fever with bone jarring chills.

I did some stretching exercises in the evening that are supposed to help move the stone along. The place where the stone seem to be all day is still very tender, but the pain has lessened as of Sunday night about 10 o’clock.

I was not able to go to church and preach either service Sunday. I appreciate Pastor John DiZazzo and his folks extending so much grace and mercy to us. We also canceled our three night meeting in Missouri this week.

Now we are figuring out how to get the bus home. We have some people offering to help us, but I hate for anybody to make a special trip. I am praying for a good nights rest tonight and then things will probably look different tomorrow by God’s grace.

We walked over to the church during the altar service and have the folks pray for us. Praise God for His help.

Please, please, please pray for us. Kelly Jo began texting people about 7 AM Eastern time and we heard from most of them multiple times in a day that they in their churches were praying. We appreciate that very much.

View Out The Front Window of The BoggsMobile 11/3/24

Sunday Morning Sanity
Someone may disagree with you.
Someone may vote differently than you.
Someone may have completely divergent values and worldview than you.
But they are not the enemy we are fighting against.
We wrestle not against flesh and blood

Our view out the front window in Wichita, Kansas.

I hope you have a super great Sunday.

Gods Glory and Handiwork On Display

Hey Friends,

This is Odie checking in on this first Saturday of the month. I am thrilled you stopped by to visit today.

Here is a friendly reminder that may make your day better. For most of us, our clocks fall back by one hour! Tonight is a wonderful night for those of us who value our sleep. I plan to enjoy every possible second of sleep tonight!

Can you believe the Holiday season is approaching? 2024 is speeding by in a flash. November causes my mind to turn to Thanksgiving.

I have often said I strive to be thankful on a daily basis. November’s Thanksgiving season is an extra reminder to be thankful for all things.

Today, I am thankful for the magnificent creation. God created too many amazing things to name them all.

I love looking up at the sky. The beauty of the skies baffles my little human mind. I enjoy seeing the world from 30,000 feet in the air.

On a recent flight, I was reminded of the awesomeness of our creator God! I was humbled that I get to experience His magnificent creation. I snapped this picture while flying above the clouds.

The photograph reminded me of a verse of scripture. Psalm 19:1 says it like this.

The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament sheweth his handywork.

I love seeing the Heavens declare His handiwork! Each flight I take I am left in awe of God! It is hard for me to believe people can doubt that God is real. Sights like the one above amaze me. I hope you enjoy the beauty too!

God, thank you for allowing me to experience and explore your world! I am thankful to be a tiny part of it!

Thank you for reading! See you next time.

Revival In Pictures - Wichita, Kansas

Last Monday we unhooked the bus from utilities at Crosslight Ministries in Moore, Oklahoma cranked it up and backed the bus into the street. Then Kelly pulled forward in the street and we hooked up the Jeep.

We pulled into Bethany Revival Center in Wichita, Kansas three hours and 50 minutes later. The total drive was 172 miles, which included about 2 miles of detour around a completely stopped train on 21st St.

We only made one stop and that was at Loves in Tonkawa, Oklahoma to do the work of the evangelist and eat a quick bite of supper. The rest of the drive was smooth with light traffic and great weather, just the way we like it.

Tuesday evening we unloaded our sound equipment and rolled it into the church with help from some of the church folks that were there. Wednesday morning we set it up and got a good sound check.

Wednesday night was the first night of revival, our 22nd revival at Bethany Revival Center in Wichita. We have been in revival at Bethany every year beginning in August 2003. We are happy to return and love being here each year.

We captured some great pictures during the first part of the revival and I am sure you will enjoy them. Thank you for dropping in today.
