Hey Friends,
Merry Christmas Eve! We are spending today with the Morgan crew for Christmas. Thanks for stopping by. Did you see our special blog yesterday? Please check it out by clicking here. It is a gift from Dad that we will forever cherish.
In Ohio, we call chocolate peanut butter balls buckeyes. Mamaw Martha has always made the best buckeyes! We always look forward to Mamaw’s buckeyes. It is a Boggs Christmas tradition.
Dad had not eaten any sweets for many years because of his high blood sugar. He was extremely disciplined and did not cheat! He allowed himself to eat just one buckeye a year for several years. Often, Mamaw made him a bigger one for his one buckeye to enjoy.
Last week, some of our family gathered at Mamaw and Papaw’s to make a couple of batches of buckeyes. They remembered Dad this year, too, so they made one big buckeye just for him!
On Sunday afternoon, we went to the cemetery with Mamaw and Papaw to visit Dad and Ali’s graves. Papaw left the buckeye for him.
Dad can now have all the buckeyes he desires without thinking about blood sugar issues! There is no need for resticted eating in Heaven! That is another thing we can look forward to experiencing there!
See you tomorrow.
Odie
