Foodie Friday Ice Cream 1/31/25

 Hey Friends,

This Is Odie. Thanks for stopping by! Today is Foodie Friday. I am going back a few weeks for this picture. Early in January, we went to Tennessee to empty the BoggsMobile.

We were blessed to have both Papaw Eugene Boggs and Papaw Danny Morgan with us! They helped us so much!

We all dearly love ice cream, so we had to enjoy some together during the trip. Nothing is better than Ice cream with my Papaws! I love these men and am grateful to have them in my life.

See you later!

Throwback Thursday 1/30/25

Hey Friends,

Thank you for stopping by for a quick Throwback Thursday post. The other day, I found this great shot of Dad. Mom or I caught him in action! Bro. Salmon Adelani was the interpreter for this meeting.

The picture was taken on our second trip to Nigeria during a minister's conference in November 2009 in Ibadan. If my memory is correct, the theme of the meeting was the Holy Ghost.

See you tomorrow.

Tribute To Davy from Pastor Matthew Erinola

Hey Friends,

Thanks for stopping by to visit with us. Here is an email that was sent to us last week. Bro. Matthew Erinola granted us permission to share this publicly.

Pastor Mathew is of our precious friends from Nigeria. He interpreted many sermons for Dad on the trips to Nigeria.

I will let Pastor Mathew finish this post. See you all later.
Odie

“Good day to you sister Kelly and compliment of the season. Once again, I commiserate and express my heartfelt condolence to you on the passing on of your husband very lately.

It's as if he were still with us. I looked forward to hearing him preach and teach, for his messages were clear, simple, sincere, yet very powerful and touching.

Oh how I missed him! Your husband was a rare gift to the Body. But he left the stage too soon. Yet we can't question God. He knows best and I very much believe He’s prepared the best for you and Odie, even before he was taken to glory. Therefore take heart. He'll take care of you both.

He ( and of course all of you in the Boggs family ministry) have a heart like that of Jesus. Jesus ministry wasn't limited to preaching and teaching, He was healing and feeding multitudes altogether. And that's the pattern you were showing each time you came to Nigeria.

I personally know how many needy in the church I reached on your behalf last time you came in NOV/DECEMBER 2023. I'm an all time beneficiary of your kind gestures.

The God of all comfort who is also the father of mercies (2Cor 1:3-4) will comfort you on all fronts. God will give you a better, brighter and a bigger tomorrow. You will laugh in a large place and forget all your sorrows in the name of Jesus.

You are still in our hearts. We are praying for you. Blessings.”
Matthew Erinola.

Memory of Davy Boggs By Andrew Blevins

 Hey Friends,

This is Odie checking in for a moment. For this post, I am going to let Bro. Andrew Blevins share a memory of Dad.

He shared this sweet memory with us a few weeks ago, and it touched us greatly!

My Dad always had a heart for others! I had to share this sweet memory with you. Thank you to Bro. Andrew, thank you for allowing me to post it.

Dad loved Bro. Andrew and his family immensely and cheered their ministry! endeavors on. Our family is so proud of the Blevins Family. God is using them to help others.

Recently, the Blevind visited Oklahoma, Bro. Andrew sent me this picture. He tried Dad’s favorite place for a burger, Ron’s Hamburger and Chili.

He did his best Davy Boggs impersonation for this photo. I love it!

Now, below is Andrew’s memory of his friend.

Odie

“ Many years ago when I was a teenager our youth group took a trip to the Pentecostal Fire Youth Conference. I had been going through some of the spiritual ups and downs of youth, and had allowed myself to get cold in the Lord. My heart was hard and full of bitterness.

The singing and the preaching was great, but unfortunately nothing could move me. I tried to pray and got nowhere. I stood there in the altar service surrounded by a crowd of people and feeling totally alone. I bowed my head and "prayed" just to appease my dad who was standing next to me. But I was just going through the motions. I didn't want to be there and I sure didn't want a bunch of people praying for me.

Suddenly I felt someone come up behind me and wrap their arms around me. I felt the burn of bitterness begin to swell up within me. "Who in the world is this?",Then I heard his voice. It was a voice I had grown up hearing in my home church.

It was brother Davy. I had no idea he was in the crowd. He was weeping and crying. Pouring out his heart to God for me. I felt my hard heart melt and break. I prayed back through and found God's grace was still sufficient.

As I look back, that weekend was a turning point for me. I don't know if I would have gone on serving the Lord without receiving that touch. It was brother Davys love and compassion for me that moved me.

I was blessed to be raised at Dryden Road Pentecostal Church, and this is just one of the many memories I have of my dear friend brother Davy Boggs.”

Tribute To Davy From GoodNews Christian School.

Hey Friends,

I am in vacation mode. I tried to plan out the blog this week and schedule each post. So you would not be without a daily post. I did not want Mom to worry about the blog while I was gone.

All that being said, I have a few tributes or memories of Dad that will be shared for a few days.

The GoodNews Christian School in Nigeria is a ministry that Dad loved! He put his whole heart into supporting their work. He was so happy to know the school was growing continually!

Boggs Family Ministries is continuing to support the school today. More information will be coming shortly.

We all know Daddy loved to visit the school when he could. He was always planning his next trip!

Pastor Samuel Bamidele, is the principal of the upper grades in the school. He sent us this letter back in November. Below is his letter behalf of the school.

Odie

"Dear Family of our beloved Pastor Davy Boggs,

Our hearts are deeply saddened as we mourn the passing of our beloved Pastor Davy Boggs, who was not only a guiding light to the Goodnews Christian School but also a faithful missionary to Nigeria and a pillar in our church, Christ Ambassadors Holiness Church. Pastor Boggs was a true servant of God, selflessly dedicated to the work of the Kingdom, touching the lives of countless individuals across generations.

His love for people—children, youth, and the elderly alike—was evident in every interaction. Pastor Boggs’ unwavering support of various projects in our churches and schools reflects a legacy of compassion, faith, and evangelism that will continue to inspire us for years to come. Though we grieve his loss, we rejoice that he has entered into the rest of the Lord, whom he served so faithfully.

We extend our deepest condolences to our beloved humble and caring Mummy Kelly and our ever loving Sister Oddy and the entire family. We pray that God's peace, which surpasses all understanding, will comfort and strengthen you during this difficult time. His legacy of love and devotion to Christ will live on in our hearts and through the lives he has touched.

With heartfelt sympathy,
Pastor S.O Bamidele,
The Principal Goodnews Christian school Saje Abeokuta Ogun State Nigeria.”

Sanity 1/26/25

Hey Friends,

It is time for Sunday Sanity. I, Odie, started my vacation yesterday. I will be getting much needed refreshment for the mind, body and soul on the sea.

Most of the week, I will not have access to check the blog. The posts should go up as scheduled.

Today's Sanity came from our pastor's Sunday School lesson last week. When he spoke these words, Mom looked at me and said, "Sunday Sanity."

"If you are hid in Christ, why do I see so much of you?"
Pastor B.D. Sutherland
Dryden Road Pentecostal Church Moraine, Ohio

Colossians 3:3 provoked this quote. It was just one of the reference verses he used in his lesson. Oh, ouch! My prayer is to be fully hidden in Christ!

See you later!

Foodie Friday Bacon Cheddar Ranch Dip

 Hey Friends,

I hope you are having a great Friday. What lies ahead in your weekend plans? I am planning an exciting weekend. I will tell you all about it later.

Today is Foodie Friday. I planned to share an easy recipe with you.  Sadly, I can not find the picture I thought I had for the post.

You are just going to have to believe that it is yummy. The best part is that it is quick and easy, which is my type of dish. The recipe is Bacon Cheddar Ranch Dip.

I love the combination of every ingredient. This is a family favorite! My Morgan side of the family often requests that I make it for family functions.

Bacon Cheddar Ranch Dip

1 block of cream cheese

1 c sour cream

1 pkg of dry ranch mix

1 c (or more if you like it) shredded cheddar cheese

Chopped Green onions

Real bacon, pieces or bits

Combine all ingredients and refrigerate

You can save some cheese, green onions, and bacon to garnish the top before serving.

I usually double this recipe. I use as much cheese as I feel it needs, and I often use different types of cheese, not always cheddar. Serve with crackers, pretzels or chips of your choice. Now it is time to enjoy the yumminess!!

See you later.

Throwback Thursday 1/23/25

 Hey Friends,

Thanks for stopping by to say hello. It is wonderful to have you visit us.

Today is Throwback Thursday. I have some pictures for you from when I was a wee little girl. They are not the best quality. Of course, we were using a 35mm camera back then. These prints are many years old now!

These were taken in the 1990s when we first visited the Blue Ridge Parkway. Our family visited this beautiful part of the country many times after this trip.

Through the years, we have gained so many wonderful memories in this area. Not only did we collect memories, but we also made a lot of friends. Those friends are still near and dear to our hearts today.

I hope you enjoy a glimpse into the past when we were all a lot younger. See you tomorrow!

Brrr It Is Cold

 Hey Friends,

I hope all of you are staying warm! I am staying hunkered in my house. Me and the extreme cold do not get along too well! We have had snow on the ground now for a long time in Ohio.

Mom was out last night and this was the temperature reading on her jeep -6 real temperature.

The low Tuesday in our area was -8° real temperature. Here is a screenshot of our weather right before I wrote this post.

Our friends in the south have gotten covered up with snow. That is a rare happening for them! We have received several text messages of pictures and videos of this snow in the not so sunny south.

These pictures are from dothan, Alabama and Wilmer, Alabama, Richton, Mississippi. Grab you a blanket and a hot chocolate and enjoy these photos.

See you tomorrow!

Time To Plan For PFYC 2025

Hey Friends,

Thanks for stopping by to visit. Can you believe we are in the home stretch of January 2025?! We have been trying to nail down some things on our agenda this year.

I put PFYC 2025 on my calendar. If I could, I would attend the Pentecostal Fire Youth Conference every year. I love this event so much! PFYC is a fantastic two-day conference that focuses on young people.

I am glad the young at heart can also enjoy the powerful six services. There is no age limit!  PFYC is centered around the word of God and changing lives for the better!

God has met me in some memorable ways at PFYC! I am so grateful to everyone who makes sure PFYC happens! I know countless hours of labor go into this conference! It is a class act event!

It occurs every spring at the beautiful LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. For more information and to reserve your spot for 2025, visit the PFYC website here

This year, it will be held on Thursday and Friday, March 27-28, the last weekend of March. It is time to make your plans to experience PFYC for yourself!

Landmark is the theme for 2025. This is the official statement on the 2025 from their website. I believe spiritual landmarks will be happening in thousands of lives during PFYC this year.

Proverbs 22:28: "Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set."

Below is the schedule for PFYC 2025.

RockyTop Sports World is also available at a different location on Wednesday and Thursday nights. The PFYC website also has that information.

Please make plans, and come join us for PFYC 2025! Everyone needs to experience this conference at least once. You can check out previous years by clicking on the PFYC website's media tab.

I am looking forward to a move of God and phenomenal fellowship at PFYC 2025! Click here to see my pictures and info from 2024.

See you later!

Celebrating Ezra's 12th Birthday

Hey Friends,

Thank you for checking in on a winter Monday! It is always great to visit with our friends in this space. Please make it a habit to visit! I truly appreciate all of you who regularly check the blog. Your public and private comments have been super encouraging to me.

Mom and I are staying busy living life. Most of which has not been pictured here. On many days, Mom conquers ministry and family work at home. I help where possible or stay out of the way.

We are enjoying more family time than usual, which is one of the few positive aspects of our recent life change. On Friday night, we were on hand in Hillsboro, Ohio, to celebrate Ezra's birthday.

Below is my last selfie from a couple weeks ago with an 11 year old Ezra. I am glad we actually got to celebrate with him this year!

He turned 12 last week! Where did my little guy go? Wow, it does not seem feasible that he is that age! He was 4 when he joined our family! Time has flown by in a couple blinks of an eye.

Ezra is a kind, polite, helpful and handsome young man! I am so proud of him! He is smart and inquisitive. In 2025, he is knocking on the door of being a teenager.

Here are a few more pictures from the night! I had fun with all my cousins!

To close out this post, here is a picture of me with my cousin Courtney. We have always known that we look alike, but we are hearing it more often!

Well, that is all for now. See you tomorrow!
