Celebrating My Incredible Daddy

 Hey Friends,

Thanks for spending a moment of your weekend with us! First, I wanted to encourage you to check out yesterday's post HERE, if you missed it.

For the Boggs family, yesterday was a holiday. January 16 is the birthdate of the one and only Davy Boggs.

We set aside the day on the blog and in real life to celebrate him! The family text started early in the morning. Memories and pictures poured in until late last night. I hope to share some of those memories later.

I laughed, I cried, I smiled, but most of all, I was proud to be his daughter!
Mom and I were joined by several of our family members at Longhorn Steakhouse for dinner.

All of us were missing Davy Boggs! The delicious food and wonderful family time were a soothing balm to our hearts.

Here are a few pictures from Davy’s 2026 birthday dinner!

Mom and I split his favorite steak, in Dad’s honor.

I know the picture does not look like it, but Uncle Jay was fully there last night 😂. He cut himself half out of the picture

See you all tomorrow!

A Warm Ray Of Sunshine

 Hey Friends,

It looks like winter has settled in for the long haul.  As I type, the snow is spitting. According to my weather app, the temps will struggle to get above freezing for several days. Then, in a few days, we may not even make it out of the teens.

I feel a shiver coming on just thinking about it! If you need me, I might be hiding under my electric blanket!

You know, my Dad never liked to be in Ohio this time of year!  We did experience some cold days down south on our tour, but they were short-lived.

Today, I am dreaming of warm weather and sunshine. That type of weather is on the horizon for me! Hopefully, I will be experiencing it in just a little while.

Yesterday afternoon, we were blessed with a human ray of sunshine! Sweet Lisa Isaacs stopped by to visit. She came to bless us with hugs, smiles, and a little bouquet of flowers!

Lisa is the real-life definition of thoughtfulness. Her surprise act of service warmed my heart yesterday.

Lisa, we love you so much! Thank you for your thoughtfulness and kindness! My soul needed a warm ray of sunshine.

This is just my reminder to myself, send that text message, make that phone call, stop and hug a friend. It will make their day a little brighter! Most of all, I want to remember to pray for those around me

See you later,

Odie

Thank you, Everly Alexander, for our precious gift! Keep up the incredible artwork. We love you so much! Thank you for being our amazing friend!

DRPC New Year’s Revival 2026

 Hey Friends,

Thanks for stopping by! I hope your new year is off to a great start! Tonight is the final night of New Year's revival at DRPC.

Pastor Jon Isaacs has been preaching outstandingly this week. We have thoroughly enjoyed getting see and visit with Bro. Jon and Sis. Heidi!

We had to miss Tuesday night due to recovery from sickness. Wednesday night's watch night service was excellent. We had communion. It is always a special time at DRPC. 2025 ended greatly. Last night, the Lord visited us so sweetly.

Last night, we also attended an annual gathering at the home of Bro. Jeff and Sis. Debbie Roberts. The food and fellowship was grand!

I am excited to see what God has in store for us tonight. Here are some pictures from Wednesday and Thursday nights.

See you tomorrow.

Happy New Year 2026

Mom was at the grocery store yesterday when a gentleman approached her. He had his purchase along with two bouquets of flowers.

He handed Mom a bouquet and told her Happy New Year. He said it is for you. She asked why, and he explained he purchased flowers for his wife. He also wanted to brighten somebody else's day too!

This was a moving random act of kindness! We pray God blesses this gentleman for his kindness!

Happy New Year, Friends! May God bless and keep you through this new year!

2 Years Ago But Thanking God Again

 Hey Friends,

Welcome to the final days of 2025. December 29th is a date that will always ring a bell in our minds

It was on this date in 2023 that Dad was suddenly stricken with a brain stem stroke. We were preparing to hit the road and be gone for most of 2024.

Wow, our plans changed in an instant. Suddenly, Dad was feeling very sick, and it was then that he realized he could not swallow. Within moments, our travel plans were on hold. Soon, we were all headed to the hospital.

Reliving those moments can be painful, but I am also left with thankfulness in my heart.

God allowed us to be surrounded by the right people at the right time to help us. I am still so thankful that we were home when it happened, and not on the road. We were less than two hours from hitting the road.

I was in the house getting ready to leave when Dad got sick. Mom called me from the barn to alert me. From my very first prayer for Dad, when I knew he was ill. I prayed for God to heal and help him. I also asked God for grace and strength to navigate what was ahead. I really did feel peace in the midst of my panic, and I know that only comes from God.

My prayers were answered! No, he was not instantaneously healed of everything that ailed him. God did give us many, many miracles during the time of his stroke recovery. Friends, I'm talking about things that only God could do.

Those miracles made life much more bearable for Dad for the 10 months he had left with us! I do not want to think about what those 10 months would have looked like without the miracles God did for us! I still remember the very moment I watched the video of Dad taking his first swallow of water after 16 days. I cried and shouted all at the same time!

As for the rest of my prayer, God answered it, too. He daily gave us grace and strength to make it. During the long weeks of Dad's hospital stay, we survived. His grueling therapy sessions, Dad and Mom survived. I genuinely do not know where our family would be without the strength that comes from God and His grace!

Dad did not recover as much as he had hoped that he would recover post-stroke. I can tell you this much: he worked hard on his occupational speech and physical therapy! Mom and I are still extremely proud of him!

The memories from two years ago today may not be happy, but the goodness of God was there! I wanted to pause for a moment and thank God for being so wonderful to our family in our time of need and beyond!

Yes, we only got 10 more months with Dad, but I am so grateful that we did get those very special months! I am incredibly thankful that the grace and strength of God did not end when Dad took his final breath.

God's grace and strength continues to carry us through each day. We still trust and rely on God to be our support. He will never fail us. Thank you, God, from the bottom of my heart!

Also, God has granted us a fantastic family, friends, a church family, and a road. family that are always there to help us! Y'all are amazing, and I cannot name all of you. We would be here forever if I tried! May God bless you for your love and friendship to us!

Thanks for reading! I will see you all tomorrow!

A Very Boggs Christmas 2025 Pics

 Hey Friends,

Yesterday was Christmas Day. Which means it is time for the Boggs to gather for our annual Christmas party.

A few of the family were down with sickness, Mom included. We greatly missed allof the the family members not present, but had a fabulous evening with family.
We cherish every moment of family time

Baby Beckham was with us for his first Christmas. He was the guest of honor. We were so thankful to have him and his parents there.

Now I will close with pictures from last night. I hope you enjoy.
