Thursday In Pics

 Hey Friends,

There's not much time for words. We have been preparing for two of our Christmas concerts this weekend. The first one is tonight at Dryden Road at 7PM.

It is an honor to have Bro. Philip, Sis. Deidra and Colton Deane with us. We are excited to be singing with Colton! Bro. Philip preached very well at Dryden Road Pentecostal Church last night.

Here are pictures from Thursday. It was a full day. Now it is Friday and time for a nap before our day begins again.

We appreciate your prayers this weekend. See you later.

Practice Practice Practice

 Hey Friends,

Here is a picture from practice at DRPC last night. I know I told you about our mini Christmas tour earlier this week. Read that post by clicking HERE.

BFM is in full out panic and prep mode. The band is sounding awesome. I just hope we can remember everything. I might be singing Christmas songs in my sleep.

Please keep us in your prayers. Pray for our minds to work properly and our bodies to be well without voice problems.

It is already Thursday as I write this post. I am going to try to get a little rest.

See you tomorrow.

DRPC Children’s Christmas 2025

 Hey Friends,

First, I want to say thank you for the prayers for our family. Yesterday was not an easy day to say see you later to our Aunt Carol. God helped the family.

Please keep the family in your prayers as they navigate this difficult season. Many of you took the time to message and check on us yesterday. Your thoughtfulness and prayers are greatly appreciated!

We rushed back from Kentucky yesterday afternoon. We needed to be at church at Dryden Road Pentecostal Church last night.
It was time for the Children's Church Christmas program.

This year, the leaders did not do a full kids' play. They had kids say parts and sing some songs. It was so cute.

I was extremely proud of all of the kids. There were even a few who do not usually like to sing with the junior choir, but they sang the entire program.

Here are a few pictures and a video. I hope you enjoy.

See you all tomorrow.

4 City Christmas Tour

 Hey Friends,

I guess we ended up with a mini Christmas tour this year. 1 date grew to 2, then 3, and now we are ending it with number 4 shortly before Christmas. We are celebrating the Joy of Christmas through song.

We could have added more dates. I know we had some requests for other services. Due to my recent surgery, I only felt comfortable staying closer to home for this tour.

The final countdown is on. It is an exciting time, but nerve-racking as well. We are working hard to prepare. It is coming down to the wire.

We have 2 Christmas services this weekend. Both Friday and Saturday nights, we will also be joined by Bro. Colton Deane of Cantonment, Florida. We are so excited to sing with Colton. He is exceptionally talented!

A huge blessing for us this tour; since we are close to home, our band from DRPC has agreed to do most of these services with us. Mom and I are thrilled. That helps us tremendously. These 3 gentleman are like family to us, and we work together so often. It is extremely fun to make music with them!

Please keep us in your prayers. Stay tuned. I will recap each tour stop in a blog post.

Thank you for reading. Hope we can see you soon.

Winter Weather Is Here

 Hey Friends,

We are still several days away from the official start date of winter on the calendar. Our first snow came last month, but it did not last long. We had a slight dusting of snow Saturday night, and it didn't even last long enough for pictures.

Here is the winter wonderland that came overnight, Monday into Tuesday. It was splitting snow when we were laid down Monday night. As the night progressed, I watched more snow come on my security cameras. By Tuesday morning, Mom and I guessed that we had somewhere between 4 and 5 inches of snow.

It was beautiful! The bad cold is here to stay for a while. Yesterday, I stayed snugly in the warm house. I had my heated throw close by for added warmth.

I used the day for more recuperating. Mom made us some delicious chili for lunch and supper. It was a good snow day for me!

My photos was the closest we came to, my favorite, sunny beach weather yesterday. This cool tray on my Ottoman did make me smile.

My Uncle Steve and Aunt Karen brought this to me recently. I absolutely love it! Thank you Steve and Karen for the “sick gift”! You helped me feel better.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit! I will see you all tomorrow.

Odie Is One Week Post Surgery

 Hey Friends,

One week ago today,  I had surgery. It seems like it was only yesterday, yet it feels like a long time ago.

As I lay here typing this post on Monday night, it is hard to believe that one week ago, I was prepping for surgery. Now, I am well on my way to recovery. Thank the Lord for standing by me!

I had my one-week post-op visit at the doctor's office yesterday. We saw one of the Nurse Practitioners in the office. She removed the bandage that had been covering my incision. She told me everything is healing nicely. I have to continue taking it easy for a while.

I have another follow-up at the end of December with the other surgeon who was involved in my surgery. We did not discuss any of the details of my surgery with the NP yesterday. From what we have read in the MyChart app, everything seems OK.

Thank you again for all of your continued prayers and concern! It means more to me than I can even express! The Lord has helped me so much! I am so grateful! We still have several more weeks before I'm completely recovered, but I am Glad to be this far along in my recovery journey!

Mom has been a fantastic nurse! She is by my side anytime I call her! I am thankful for the other family and friends who have helped us.  The food, gifts, visits, and love are so appreciated!

My cousin Lisa came to sit with me for a little while on Sunday. My mom had to go to church for some Christmas practice. On Sunday afternoon, my cousins Courtney and Kayla surprised me by visiting. Apparently, they had planned with Mom to visit me! It was great to spend a couple of hours with them!

In closing, please continue praying for our baby, Beckham! He is still in Cincinnati Children's. They are doing more testing on him today, trying to figure out what triggers his issues!

We hate to see our precious baby suffer! He is still a cutie! My Uncle Tommy FaceTimed me the other day so I could see Beckham. He smiled at me a few times, and it made my heart melt.

See you tomorrow!

Weekend Wrap Up 11/17/25

Hey Friends,

Thanks for stopping by for this Weekend Wrap Up.

Today, I have several pics. We had a revival at DRPC. You will see several food pics too.

Friday, we spent time with our Morgan Family in Hillsboro.

Saturday was some more family time.

We were able to attend a Jason Crabb and Isaacs concert Saturday night. Here is some pictures. I plan to do a full post later.

Sunday, was devoted to church at DRPC. It is always a blessing to hear our Pastor preach, and worship with our church family! It was also great to have the Bostwick family visiting us from Virginia.

That wraps up our weekend! Thank you for reading today.

Tomorrow is surgery day for me. Thank you for your prayers! I will do my best to keep the blog going this week. I am going to try to schedule a few post ahead of time.

Surgery Prep For Odie

 Hey Friends,

A year ago tomorrow night, I ended up in the ER. I had emergency surgery in the middle of the night to remove an ugly, painful tumor and my last ovary.

I am so thankful that everything turned out OK. We were definitely living in a fog and running on adrenaline. It was only by the strength of God and the help of our family that we survived.

Dad passed on Sunday in Kansas. By Friday night, we were back in Ohio, facing another health crisis. I was released from the hospital on Monday.

Dad's services were on Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Thank God, I was able to attend both services. I was weak but felt OK.

A year later, it feels like déjà vu. I do not have the excruciating pain! Some of my health problems have persisted all year! It has been a tiring journey to get to where we are today.

Tuesday afternoon, I am going back to the hospital. I will have an abdominal hysterectomy. This is supposed to fix the problem once and for all. Surgery is scheduled for 3 PM Eastern time on Tuesday afternoon.

My doctor, who has seen me through the last year, is a jewel! My surgery will be one of the final ones she performs before she moves out of state. I am so thankful that she can help me feel better before she leaves!

This week has been full of surgery prep. I am trying to get things ready here on the home front for recovery after surgery. I had four different appointments to get ready for surgery. The final two were yesterday afternoon.

I have had two major surgeries in my lifetime. I did not get time to prepare for either of those. I went to the emergency room, not feeling well. Both times I found out quickly, that I was facing surgery. This time around, I do not know if the prep time is helping or hurting me.

I am not excited to have the pain of surgery, but I am excited to feel much better! I am hoping and praying for a smooth surgery and a speedy recovery. Please join me in praying for the doctors, nurses and everyone involved in the surgical process!

Thanks for reading!

Throwback Thursday 11/13/25

 Hey Friends,

First off, today let's celebrate! My precious Aunt Theresa Boggs Osborn had a birthday today! Happy Happy birthday, Theresa!

We love you to the moon and back! I am so proud of you. You are a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, friend, and pastor's wife!

Thank you for being awesome! You are a blessing too many people! May God give you a wonderful day and great blessings today.

No doubt about it, you will always be Dad's favorite sister!

I have a couple of Throwback Thursday moments for today

This is Dad’s final A Word For Wednesday  He published this on the last Wednesday of October in 2024. It took all of his strength to get this episode recorded, edited and published. In fact, he begged Mom or I to record this episode for him

HERE is the link to the complete playlist for Dad's weekly Wednesday devotional. I am grateful that we have these videos archived! These messages are still thought-provoking and encouraging!

There is one more thing that happened a year ago today, I do not know if we mentioned it here on the blog. It is a memory that Mom and I will cherish forever! We believe that it is a God moment.

One year ago today, we arrived home to Ohio. Mom, Papaw Danny, and my self were in our car making the drive. My Uncle Danny and Aunt Jeanna were following us.

As we came in to Cincinnati, Ohio. A Southwest Airlines plane flew right in front of us. The plane was very noticeable! Dad’s body made it’s final trip home from Wichita, Kansas on a Southwest Airlines flight.

We came in to Cincinnati at the same time as his flight would have been making it final descent. We could not have planned it on our own to see that plane come in to Cincinnati.

In my mind, it was a Godwink that our hearts needed that very moment. I wish I would have snapped a picture, but I was too shocked in the moment. It is a memory that I will carry in my heart forever!

That is just one of the many way we have seen God work over the last year! I am so thankful that we can depend on God to always be with us. He is always working on our behalf even when I can't see it or fill it God is working! I believe it with all of my heart!

Thanks for reading! See you next time.

Davy Day November 10th 2025

 Hey Friends,

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your extra prayers yesterday! We sincerely appreciate every call, text, comment and card that let us know you were praying for us! We all felt your prayers, hugs and thoughts!

As I wrote yesterday, HERE, it has been one year since Dad has been in Heaven. It was a day full of emotions. We laughed, cried, laughed a lot more and shed a few more tears. Praise the Lord, I can say it was a great day!

Mom and I decided, leading up to this day, that we were going to have a good day. I knew I wanted to spend yesterday close to family.

The first snowfall of the season arrived Sunday night and persisted most of Monday. We all had to laugh. Dad despised snow! He was probably having a good laugh at us yesterday!

In Davy fashion, we went to Acapulco for lunch. We were there when the doors opened at 11 AM, just like Dad  would have been. We drank some salsa for him. It was great to spend time with several of our family members that could join us! I think it was good for all of us!

Mom and I decided to wear Dad's shirts, hats and "ear muffins". It was our little way of having him with us. Mom even ended up getting salsa on her Davy shirt. I know it was not the first time the shirt had Alcapulco’s salsa on it. 🤣

I failed to get pictures for memories sake. Mom's parents were not able to join us for lunch but they came to spend some time with us in the afternoon. We enjoyed Gran and Papaw’s visit!

Later in the evening we went to visit with Mamaw, Papaw and Uncle Steve. It was great to have family with us yesterday. The others were close by via call or text! Our family has helped carry us through this year!  We can never thank them enough for their love.

Then we were hungry for supper. We all loaded up in the van, and our day concluded with a trip to a Frisch's Big Boy in West Chester, Ohio. It was wonderful to taste this Ohio comfort food again!

Another first is behind us. Lord, I thank you for helping us get through the day! Please be with us as we begin year number two.

Thank you again for being our friends and reading about our adventure of life! I appreciate you for being here for the good, bad and  ugly! See you next time.
