God Won’t

 Hey Friends,

This is Odie checking for this Wednesday. Thanks for visiting with me. I may not have A Word For Wednesday video to post. I wish so much that I had a profound devotion from Dad!

I do have song lyrics on my heart today. These are phenomenal words penned by Jimmy Yeary and Sue C. Smith.

This song was recorded by the Nelons before the tragedy that happened in their family this summer. It was realesed on their new project a few months ago.

From the first time I listened to the project God Won't is my favorite track from the album. It is a timely song.

Click the video below to hear this great song. I shared the lyrics below the video. Friend, hold on to this reminder.

God Won’t
Sue C. Smith and Jimmy Yeary

Verse 1
People can look
At where you come from
Mistakes that you’ve made
The damage you’ve done
Count every wrong
And decide that you’ve gone to far

Verse 2
Yeah people are good
At being judge and the jury
They’ll hand down a verdict
Of guilty in a hurry
Not one ounce of grace
They’ll just walk away

Chorus
But God won’t
He ain’t a leaver
He’s a call out His name
And you know that
He’ll be there
The world can say that
You’re on your own
Your last friend
Can leave you alone
But God won’t

Verse 3
No God won’t fail
And God won’t quit
He can handle the fire
He’ll walk right through it
Let ‘them all turn their backs
But just know that

Chorus
God won’t
He ain’t a leaver
He’s a call out His name
And you know that
 He’ll be there
The world can say that
You’re on your own
Your last friend
Can leave you alone
But God won’t

Bridge
If you feel like His love
Is to good to be true
And He’s already given up on you

Chorus
But God won’t
He ain’t a leaver
He’s a call out His name
And you know that
 He’ll be there
The world can say that
You’re on your own
Your last friend
Can leave you alone

Tag
But God won’t
He ain’t a leaver
He’s a call out His name
And you know that
 He’ll be there
Friends can leave you alone
But God won’t

Mom and have a tremendous group of family and friends that are helping us daily. I am amazed every day, when I see the help the Lord sends our way. Thank you each person that prays for us! We absolutely not alone.

I am so thankful that God Won't leave us! We can face life because He is alway there! I am clinging to Him!

See you next time.

Pray Through Me

 Hey Friends,

This is Odie checking in from the Beach Cottage in Ohio. My parents are doing well. I hope they are getting some much deserved rest and relaxation.

You will be hearing from me more than normal, while they are away. I do not know all the things that we will discuss under my watch. Hopefully, I will make my Dad proud!

Prayer is on my heart today. I am burdened for several precious people. Everywhere there are people in need of help and encouragement. Many are dealing with sickness and need miracles. Others are dealing with tragedies that are life altering. I can not even begin to understand their pain. Our nation is in such turmoil, that I can barely stand to hear the news.

I am so grateful for prayer! I have spent time praying for family, friends and our nation this week. Personally, I am helpless and can not fix any of the situations. I know a God who can answer prayer. I get to talk to Him through prayer!

Many times my prayers feel hollow. I do not have the words to express my own needs, prayers, and petitions to God properly. Then I try praying for the countless people that I know that need help. Do the I prayers actually help those in need?

Do you ever struggle with your prayers? Yesterday I was trying to pray and struggling to make the connection, that I desired with God. Then a song brought me the help I was looking for.

I was reminded of a song penned by our dear friend, Bro. Rick Simpson. Pray Through Me was exactly the reminder that I needed. Bro. Rick, thanks for sharing this great song with the world!

I played this song on repeat and continued praying. The song helped me get in the right mindset. My prayers were not answered immediately, but I was able to feel God near me. I knew at that moment that Jesus was interceding for me as I prayed.

I hope you find encouragement in the words of Pray Through Me too! Below I included the song lyrics for you to read. Click here to hear the Simpson Family's beautiful version of Pray Through Me on YouTube. The song is also available on Apple Music.

 Pray Through Me

At times I've been so burdened
I didn't know how to pray
Through my tears I struggled
Just to find the words to say
Confused and frustrated no matter how I tried
Until I found the answer
And from my heart I cried

Chorus
Pray through me Holy Spirit
Pray through me when I'm weak.
Touch the throne of God for me today.
When I don't have the words to say
Pray through me

Verse 2
Now I have learned the secret
There's power in one prayer
It can pull down in a moment,
The strongholds that are there
And I become dependent when I'm driven to my knees
That you're ever present to intercede for me

Bridge
Demons tremble
Every mountain crumbles
When the Spirit intercedes
There's no enemy
That I can't defeat
When I'm down on my knees

Chorus
Pray through me Holy Spirit
Pray through me when I'm weak.
Touch the throne of God for me today
When I don't have the words to say
Pray through me

Thanks for reading! See you tomorrow.

Call On Him Today

Hey Friends,

This is Odie dropping by for a quick chat. I hope you are doing well this Thursday.

Even though it is not Saturday, I have a few thoughts to share with you today. I thank God for all His blessings on us this week. He has protected us, He has provided for us and He is guiding us!

We are greatly blessed, my dear friends! Sometimes I need to pause and be thankful that God is always there for me. He has granted us access to Him anytime.  We can talk to him day or night!

I have found that it is easy to get busy with life and forget to utilize my all-access pass to God. I have not always reaped the full benefits of being His child. He is faithful to me and when I call He is there!

I am so thankful that I can talk to Jesus anytime, anywhere. In the middle of the night, I have called upon Him. I was able to get that Heavenly connection right in my room. Communing with God even just a few moments helps guide my day.

I just wanted to remind you of some important things today.
1. God loves you!
2. He is waiting on you, this very instant, to call Him.
3. You can talk to Him about anything.
4. You matter to God!

The song Jesus On The Mainline is a great reminder for us. We can tell Him what we want. The line to God is never busy and there will never be a voicemail for Him. One huge plus, there will be an annoying phone tree to maneuver while waiting. Take a moment to read and ponder these lyrics.

Jesus On The Mainline

Jesus on the mainline
Tell Him what you want
Jesus on the mainline
Tell Him what you want
Jesus on the mainline
Tell Him what you want
Call Him up and tell Him what you want

You can call Him up
I said call Him up
I said tell Him what you want
Call Him up
I said call Him up
I said tell Him What you want
Call Him up
I said call Him up
I said tell Him What you want
Call Him up and tell Him what you want

Well His line ain't never busy
Just Tell Him what you want
His line ain't never busy
You can tell Him what you want
His line ain't never busy
Just tell Him What you want
You can call Him up and tell Him what you want

Well, if you're sick and you got to get well
If you're sick and want to get well
If you're sick and want to get well
Tell Him what you want
Call him up and tell Him what you want

You can call Him up
I said call Him up
I said tell Him what you want
Call Him up
I said call Him up
I said tell Him What you want
Call Him up
Call Him up
And tell Him What you want

This video of Jesus On The Mainline from the Gaither Vocal Band is great. The singing is fantastic and the humor is hilarious. It always cheers me up when I need a smile. Check out the GVB version of Jesus On The Mainline by clicking here.

Thanks for visiting with me. I will leave you with a  few scriptures that encouraged me. Hopefully, these God ordained words will help you today.

Sometimes He Whispers

Hey Friends,

This is Odie reporting in from the road. Foley, Alabama will soon be our location. Revival begins tomorrow at Bibleway Assembly. We are looking forward to a great week with Pastor Eddy Sullivan.

I am extremely thankful to be home in the BoggsMobile once again! It is our home sweet home on wheels and we missed our it.

God has always been faithful to us! We can never praise Him adequately for seeing us through every day. The circumstances that we have had lately with the BoggsMobile breakdown surprised us but it definitely did not surprise our God. He has supplied the strength that we have needed.

It is truly amazing to watch the Lord at work. I will admit during this time I had moments of questions and uncertainty but I knew that things would be alright in the end. My God had things under control! He moves in His own time and way.

A few days ago I was preparing for bed and I turned on a song to play on my phone. Before I realized it the sweet Holy Ghost was in the room with me. He was encouraging my soul. The beautiful lyrics of Sometimes He Whispers spoke the peace that my heart needed to hear.

I had church for awhile by myself. It was a reminder to me to be still and listen for the whispers from God! I was overcome with gratitude and praise to the Lord for speaking to me in a special way.

I decided to post the lyrics here and links to the song today. Maybe you can find encouragement for your day too. Remember if you a having a rough time right now, that God is aware of your situation. He is at work even if you cannot see or hear Him working. He is there always with you!

Sometimes He Whispers was released several years ago by Adam Crabb on a solo album titled Surrenderer.

He did a wonderful job delivering the great message in this song. I dug back in my archives to find an Adam Crabb picture from 2015.

Below are the song lyrics. Sometimes He Whispers was written by Jason Cox, Belinda Smith and Kenna Turner West. Click here to find a link to the song on Apple Music. Click here for a link to the song on YouTube.

Sometimes He Whispers

Verse 1

It's been one of those days
That drives me to my knees
When there are more questions than answers
And all of the things I can't figure out
Leave me with more tears than laughter
I don't know how He’s going to move
But I know He knows what I need

Chorus

Sometimes He’s water to the thirsty
Sometimes He’s fire all consuming
Sometimes His voice is louder than thunder
Ohhhh but sometimes He whispers

Verse 2

So I'll be listening while I'm waiting on Him
And I’ll choose to trust and believe
That the same one who spoke the world into place Is  the same one who will speak peace to me
I don't know how He’s going to move
But I know He knows what I need

Chorus

Sometimes He’s water to the thirsty
Sometimes He’s fire all consuming
Sometimes His voice is louder than thunder
Ohhhh ohhhh sometimes

I will close for now. Thank you for reading today. I pray that you have a blessed weekend.

Leaving Heavens throne room, lying now in straw
Like the shepherds and the angels, I stand in Holy awe.
What kind of love is this love that would come so far
And step down into this world to win my hopeless heart.

Chorus:
And I, I could not come to you
There’s nothing I could do to save my life
Till you reached down on that Holy night
When love, love made the first move
It’s so hard to believe that you would come to me
When I could not come to you.

You left shouts of worship and glory shining bright
For the silence and the shadows of a manger meek and mild
You came to bridge the distance, to set the captives free
Like the prophets had promised, you came to rescue me.

God Rest Ye Merry, Gentleman
Public Domain
It is fascinating to notice that the comma after “merry” is often place before, changing the meaning of the sentence. The comma after “merry” indicates the song is for all gentlemen, whether merry or not, with the hope that the good news of Christ’s coming will cause them all to be merry.

God rest ye merry, gentlemen
Let nothing you dismay
Remember Christ our Savior
Was born on Christmas day
To save us all from satan’s power
When we were gone astray
Oh tiding of comfort and joy

From God our Heavenly Father
The blessed angel came
And unto certain shepherds
Brought tidings of the same
How that in Bethlehem was born
The Son of God by name
Oh tidings of comfort and joy (repeat)

Fear not said the angel
Let nothing you affright
This day is born a Savior
Of the pure virgin bright
To free all those who trust in Him
From satan’s power and might
Oh tidings of comfort and joy (repeat)

And when they came to Bethlehem
Where our dear Savior lay
They found him in the manger
Where oxen feed on hay
His mother Mary kneeled down
And to the Lord did pray
Oh tidings of comfort and joy (repeat)

God rest ye merry, gentlemen
Let nothing you dismay
Remember Christ our Savior
Was born on Christmas day

Until He Came
Carl David Boggs/Kelly Jo Boggs/Odie Podie Music/BMI

Though He had all the power and riches desired
There was yet one position He had not acquired
He was a king with a royal Holy name
But He never a Savior until He came

Chorus:
He was born in a manger
A king without a throne
A resident of paradise but here He had no home
The one who had everything gave it all for me
When He became my Savior
When He met Calvary

A pure spotless lamb that had never known pain
Put on the flesh and blood of a mortal man
The weight of the whole world He bore
Our sacrifice for sin forever more

Long Time Comin’
Jim E. Davis/Eva Wilson/Thomas Peck Music

Year after year the story was told
God would come down to earth
The word was written down by the prophets of old
About a Savior and His birth
Just when they thought He would never come
With salvation in his hand
Peace on earth, good will to men
Was born in Bethlehem

Chorus:
It was a long time comin'
They were believin' in somethin'
It was a long time comin'
They were believin' in something
Somethin' like God is with us, Emmanuel
Messiah has arrived today
It was a long time a comin'
But it was worth the wait

The angel told Mary she would have a child
Now she's rockin' a Holy Cradle
The angel told Joseph what His name would be
Now he's sweepin' a lowly stable
The angel told the shepherds where He would be found
Now they’re telling it everywhere
Glory to God, joy to the world
He’s the answer to our prayer.

Getting Ready For A Baby
Jerry D. Salley/ Sue C. Smith/ Lee Black CCTB Music(ASCAP)/House of Blacks Music (ASCAP)/Lasso The Moon Music (SESAC)/Universal Music- Brentwood Benson Publishing (ASCAP)/Universal Music- Brentwood BensonTunes (SESAC)/

What kind of girl would take on the world
By claiming an angel had come?
What kind of man would still take her hand
Knowing he wasn't the one?
What kind of love, what ever it was
Most people called it crazy.
But it would take that kind of faith
Getting ready for a baby.

What ugly words they must have heard
Whispered as neighbors walked by.
Did they defend the rumors of sin?
I wonder if they even tried.
Could I walk that road?
I'll never know.
The best I can say is maybe.
Were they all by themselves, did they have any help?
Getting ready for a baby.

Then one silent night he changed their lives
Like babies always do.
But Mary and Joseph had no idea
How he would change mine too.
They had the job of cradling God
As he entered this world to save me.
All part of a plan so much more than
Getting ready for a baby.

What kind of love, what ever it was
Someday I'll thank them for facing
All the heartache they knew everything they went through
Getting ready for a baby.

He Came To Me
Squire Parsons Jr./Beulah Music/Admin by Brentwood-Benson Music Publishing, Inc.

The gulf that separated me
From Christ, my Lord
It was so vast the crossing
I could never ford.
From where I was to God’s demand, it seemed so far
I cried, "Dear Lord, I cannot come to where you are."

Chorus:
He came to me
He came to me.
When I could not come to where He was
He came to me.
That's why He died on Calvary
When I could not come to where He was
He came to me.

He came to me
When I was bound in the chains of my sin.
He came to me
When I could find no peace within.
Then He reached down and He drew me gently to His side
Where today in His sweet love I now abide.
