Davy’s Funeral Services Link And A Tribute

 Hey Friends,

This is Odie, last night many hundreds of our dear family and friends showed up to pay their respects to my Dad and the impact of his life. The line lasted over four hours!

Mom, myself and all of our family feel extremely loved! People journeyed from coast to coast and many from points in between to be with us. We are astounded by the kindness that we have been shown!

Dad’s Celebration of Life will be this morning. Click here to view the service on Boggs Family Ministries YouTube channel. It begins Thursday at 11 AM Eastern, 10 AM Central. Please share with others who may like to attend virtually as well!

I will close today with a poem written in tribute to Dad last week. These words were penned by our long time dear friend, Bro. Rick Combs. I found this picture of Dad and Bro. Rick in our archives.

A BETTER CHOIR

A poem By Rick Combs
Honoring The Graduation To Heaven Of Brother Davy Boggs
November 10, 2024

For years, he poured his heart out,
In his preaching and his singing,
From slow ones to the faster ones,
That had the rafters ringing.

From tent revivals everywhere,
To Africa and more,
He never lost sight of the One,
Who he was working for.

And now, his work on Earth is done,
And now, it’s time to rest.
Surrounded by the saints of GOD,
The happy and the blessed.

I’m sure that Heaven’s choir,
Has been doing great for years,
With rousing songs of victory,
And no more death or tears.

But as our brother’s voice joins it,
I think it just got higher!
With Brother Davy Boggs’s voice,
It’s now a better choir!

Another Year Living In The Goodness Of God

Hey Friends,

This is Odie reporting in from Oklahoma again this week. I have so enjoyed being with many wonderful friends.

This weekend, we are singing at the fellowship meeting at Bethany Holiness Church. It is always a pleasure to be with Pastor Darrell Toliver and the Bethany church family!

Monday marked the beginning of another year in my life. My family and friends overwhelmed me with love and kindness and made my birthday extra special. My birthday was definitely a happy one in 2024.

The Lord has abundantly blessed me. For the last couple of years, my testimony song has been The Goodness of God. I have lived the words of this song all of my life. Every time I hear this song, it moves me to tears, thinking of the bountiful blessings that God has poured out upon my life. I would not be here without His goodness to me!

I have featured the song Goodness Of God in a previous post. My favorite group, The Isaacs, recently released the song too. Now I have a new favorite version! Today was a great day to feature The Isaacs singing my testimony.

Goodness Of God is available now, and a full worship project from the Isaacs releases next week. I am so excited to have new music from the Isaacs!

I hope you enjoyed the song too! My prayer is for all of us to remember God’s amazing goodness in our lives! Let us pause for a moment and praise God one more time!

Thanks for joining me today! I will see you next time. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

A Wordless Wednesday, KJo Jam, Nothing But The Blood and Are You Washed In The Blood

We are so happy to bring you Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please watch and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

While in Thomasville we knew we would be parked in the country this week and had yet to determine if we would have enough signal to load a video. We recorded and uploaded in Thomasville to be sure we did not miss a week. It is a good thing we took care of it last week because signal is limited here.

This is our first A Wordless Wednesday of 2024. KJo is playing Nothing But The Blood and Are You Washed In The Blood. I appreciate Kelly Jo stepping in to help me. I had forgotten about the possibility of A Wordless Wednesday until I was struggling with allergies for a few days and my voice was affected.

We hope you enjoy A Wordless Wednesday and share it with your friends and family.

God Is Always Good

Hey Friends,

This is Odie reporting in for a Saturday post. Thanks for stopping by to visit with me.

Two weeks ago, I was getting ready for bed in the wee hours of Saturday morning. Then, my phone began lighting up with texts from several people. Sleep was nearly impossible for me that night.

The texts all had a picture of a post from Gaither Music. I had to read the press release from Gaither Music a few times to really take in the news. You have most likely seen the news as well. It has been everywhere.

A plane crash earlier on Friday, July 26th, claimed the lives of seven individuals. Three of the seven individuals were Kelly Nelon Clark, Jason Clark and their oldest daughter Amber Nelon Kistler, who made up 3/4ths of the Nelons. The Nelons have been a household name for Southern gospel fans for many decades.

Kelly and Jason left behind their younger daughter, Autumn Nelon Streetman, her husband, Jamie, and their baby son, who is due later this year. The Streetmans were on a commercial flight from Nashville to Seattle, from what I read. Autumn has been on my heart! I can not begin to imagine all that she is going through!

The Nelons were headed to Seatle to board a Gaither cruise to Alaska. Amber's husband, Nathan Kistler, Melodi Hodges, Nelon's assistant, and pilot Larry and Melissa Haynie were other people involved. My heart hurts for everyone connected to these families!

Although I did not know the Nelons personally, I did meet them in passing at a Gaither concert. I could not find those pictures in the blog archives.

Two weeks later, it still seems like an awful nightmare. I have heard, read, and watched many tributes and memorial services for them in the last two weeks. I know the loved ones left here want to wake up from their own nightmare. I am sure it is even worse for their families and countless friends.

This horrific event has left a hole in the hearts of many people. Please join me in praying for everyone hurting due to this tragedy! They will need many prayers to get through many days ahead of them!

Last week, I went back to a great 2015 solo project released by Amber. I love her album called Just Sing. You can find it on Apple Music. Amber was an incredible singer! I will miss her voice!

While listening to Amber sing, I was reminded of a song with a powerful message. It is titled God Is Always Good. I decided to share it with you today.

We will never understand why this tragedy happened. No one has to know the reason. One thing I know without a doubt is listed in this chorus.
God is always good God is always good
Always was always is forever He will be
God Is always good to you and me.

Take time to soak in these lyrics and listen to Amber Nelon Kistler's sweet voice. According to information on Apple Music, Chad Cates and Marty Funderburk penned this song. The video and lyrics are listed at the end of this post.

We all face uncertainty in life, and many of us battle it daily! Right now, the world is crazy! How can we survive without being overwhelmed? Thank God, we can rest in the fact that God is Always Good. That does not mean life will not have ups and downs. God is still faithful to you and me! God is in control!

Hope to meet up with you again! Please join me next time.
Odie

God Is Always Good

Verse 1

I don't know why I don't know when
I don't know how you'll make it through
But I know Him
And He is God and He is kind
Sometimes it's in the darkest night we find

Chorus

God is always good God is always good
Always was always is forever He will be
God Is always good to you and me

Verse 2

He knows your hurt your broken heart
He knows everything that led to where you are
And He'll provide all you need
So rest in His unfailing love and see

Chorus

God is always good God is always good
Always was always is forever He will be
God Is always good to you and me

Happy Birthday Papaw Danny And The Isaacs July 2024

 Hey Friends,

This is Odie coming to you for another Saturday post. It is great to visit with you today. I hope all of you are doing well today.

Happy Birthday Papaw Danny

August 3rd is the birthday of Mom's Dad. The biggest of all, happy birthdays to my Papaw Danny!

We are so blessed to have this excellent man in our lives! Papaw is a fantastic person!

Once again, happy birthday! We love you so very much, and I hope you feel extra loved today. I could not let this day go by without celebrating you, at least a little bit!

The Isaacs July 2024

Recently, Mom and I decided to take a road trip at the last minute. We drove to Grayson, Kentucky, for the afternoon and evening. The Isaacs were singing at Kentucky Christian University. We were excited to see our family and spend some time with them. Here is a quick picture that I snapped during their soundcheck,

Being in Grayson also allowed us to see some Boggs family members. That was an extra special treat! George and Diana Boggs sat with us. We love our dear cousins!

Also, our cousin Rhonda Oney was there with some of her family. It was great to see her again!

Ready and waiting for concert time.

The KCU president started off the night by greeting the crowd.

The Isaacs then took the stage. They started the night off with Ain't No Grave.

Josh Swift is the Dobro master.

Greg Ritchie is a phenomenal percussionist. He has been special to us for many years, playing drums on all of our studio albums. We love Greg!

My beautiful Aunt Lily! I  love hearing her sing and give her testimony!

It was neat to watch Levi and Becky Bowman, a mother and son, play guitars together.

The one and only Ben Isaacs! He is a man of many talents, and he does all of them exceptionally well!

Sonya Isaacs is an amazing singer, musician and person! I am always left in awe of her! It is an honor to know her!

I always have a great time listening to the music and singing. It never gets old to me!

The Isaacs' talent improves every time! I do not know how it happens when they are already the best!

Josh Swift has been an excellent addition to the group since 2020. He joins right in on the family antics on and off stage.

Geg Ritchie joined the Isaacs in 2022. He also fits right in with the family!

They sang Three Bells, honoring a special request from a member of the audience.

Becky did a marvelous job on the Good Shepherd! That is a song from her solo record. I praise God for a miracle every time I see Becky perform! The Lord has helped her recover amazingly from the horrible car wreck in December of 2022. She is a trooper, overcoming the lasting complications from the accident daily!

Levi Bowman sang a song from his upcoming solo project. Levi has always been my buddy, and he is very talented.

The concert was outstanding from beginning to end. I hated to see the night end on the last note of Nothing But Good! I am already checking The Isaacs' schedule for the next time I can see them.

I love my Ben, Sonya and Becky more than I can express. It is always a joy to spend time with them!

They argue over who loves me the most and which one I love more. It has been a long standing discussion.

I am blessed to have each of them in my corner. They all go out of their way to make me feel loved!

We had to get a couple photos with our Boggs Family before we said goodbye to them! We love George and Diana. They are some of the sweetest people that we know.

Soon, it was time to say our goodbyes for the night. Here is a picture of their bus as we left.

Then we pointed the Jeep toward Waynesville. Thanks to Mom for being my chauffeur! We talked about the exceptional day all the way home. I am so grateful that we got to make this road trip work! We missed Dad being with us!

That wraps up my Isaacs July 2024 recap. Thanks for tagging along. See you next week.

Jeff and Sheri Easter June 2024

Hey Friends

This is Odie checking from the beach cottage. Thanks for stopping by to visit with me.

Happy Anniversary, Mom and Dad

First things first, today is my parent's anniversary! I want to wish Mom and Dad a Happy Anniversary!

Congrats on making it to number 39! I love you both so much! I pray this is your best year yet!

Jeff and Sheri Easter June 2024

Today, I am here to tell you about some fun from the first Friday of June. Jeff and Sheri Easter were scheduled to be in Hillsboro, Ohio.

I heard about this concert in March and quickly told my friends, the Stansells. They are big fans of Jeff and Sheri Easter’s music, too, and they immediately planned to attend the concert.

The Stansells invited me to tag along with them if my schedule allowed. I was able to work my trip to visit my family in Hillsboro into that week. I met up with my dear friends for dinner and the concert and then rode back to Waynesville with them. It worked out great for me!

Dinner consisted of another trip to Ponderosa! Yes, the Hillsboro Ponderosa is good enough to have twice in one week. Yet, I failed again to snap any food pictures!

After dinner, we headed to the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene. We wanted to get there early enough to get a good seat. This was the second concert that the Stansells and I had attended at this church.

The doors opened at 5 p.m. We paid the admission fee and made our way into the sanctuary. We found great seats and settled in to wait for the 6 p.m. start time.

Here is a picture of me, Jeff Easter, Stephanie and Timmy Stansell.

This is Timmy and me, ready for the concert to start.

The setup. Before the concert, a Gaither Jeff and Sheri Easter video was playing. It was neat to look back on some of their older material that I had not heard in a long time!

Me, Stephanie, Timmy and Rick. These are my awesome cousin friends, and it is always fun spending time with them!

Ladies and Gentlemen, introducing Jeff and Sheri Easter.

The amazingly talented Sheri Easter.

Jack Carter now plays drums and sings background vocals. Fun fact: Jack's parents met when they worked for Jeff and Sheri years ago.

I enjoy Jeff's singing. He is one of the most underrated singers in southern gospel.

Sheri was singing from the heart that night. It was special!

The whole gang.

Jeff

Sheri read us an excerpt from one of her devotionals.

This year, Tanner Duckworth is a new addition to the Jeff and Sheri Easter full time lineup.

Here is another fun tidbit of info for you. Jeff and Sheri celebrated 39 years of marriage this month. They were married several days before my Mom and Dad in June 1985.

Tanner is a guitar-picking machine. You can look him up on YouTube to hear some of his incredible picking.

Timmy, Me and Stephanie were able to grab a quick picture with both Jeff and Sheri Easter.

Soon, it was time for the night to end. I was so glad to be in attendance at this wonderful concert. It was a fantastic night of music, singing and fellowship with friends.

Thanks to the Nazarene Church for hosting the evening! Thank you to Jeff and Sheri Easter, Tanner Duckworth and Jack Carter for the awesome music and singing! We thoroughly enjoyed being in service with you!

I want to thank the Stansells for allowing me to tag along with them! It was fun making more memories with my dear cousin friends! I love you all so much!

That wraps up this concert recap. See you next time.

Odie's Weekend Dispatch 6/10

Hey Friends,

This is Odie here with a recap of my weekend in Ohio. It was good to spend some time last week with the Morgan side of my family. I will share more pictures later, but today, I have a few for you.

Let us start the weekend on Thursday. I was able to spend some more bonding time with my cousin's kids. They make me so happy!

Jackson Lee Daniels is 4.

Karleigh Jo Daniels is 2.

This is Kolby Lee Yeager. He will be 6 weeks tomorrow.

Friday was my final day with my Hillsboro family. Gran and I enjoyed spending a big part of the day together. Papaw was able to join us for a little bit. Soon, it was time to say farewell.

I love my grandparents! Spending time with Gran and Papaw is always excellent, and I hope to see them again soon!

Friday evening had been part of my loose plans since March. Jeff and Sheri Easter were scheduled to be in Hillsboro. My dear friends Rick, Stephanie and Timmy Stansell were going. They invited me to join them for a night of fun. I worked my schedule to meet them and ride back to Waynesville after the concert.

We had a wonderful night together. First, we visited the Ponderosa in Hillsboro. It was a great meal! Then, it was off to the church for a fabulous night of music and fellowship.

All of our crew have been long-time fans of Jeff and Sheri Easter. We were anticipating a fabulous night, and we were not disappointed at all!

Saturday was my day to get settled after a few days away from home. It is always great to come home to the beach cottage. I did not take any pictures to share on Saturday.

Sunday was dedicated to both services at DRPC. Our pastor preached powerful messages in both the morning and night services. I did have time to get a good nap in between. A nap always makes a Sunday much better! Below are my pictures from church on Sunday.

That wraps up a terrific Ohio weekend. I hope you had a good weekend as well! Thanks for stopping by to visit with me. Come back tomorrow to see us again.
