Foodie Friday 2/21/25

 Hey Friends,

Last week on Foodie Friday, here, I shared a favorite food memory with my Dad that he capture on video.

Well, the very next day we visited another family favorite buffet. He videoed that experience and shared it too.

We loved Berry’s Seafood Buffet! They had a place to park the bus, the food is wonderful and the atmosphere is great! We stopped, whenever possible. Maybe Mom and I can go back soon!

I thought it was fitting to share the video here for this week's Foodie Friday installment. I hope you enjoy.

See you tomorrow!

Throwback Thursday 2/20/25

 Hey Friends,

Welcome to Throwback Thursday. Today, we are going back to January 29th 2021. The last week of January we had a schedule change due to sickness. Honestly, that became our norm, and we learned to roll with the punches. We were still hours away, so we changed our route and plans.

The new plan was to do ministry bookwork by day for my parents and revival on YouTube at night. A truckstop parking lot was home for a few days. We had cell signal and food and the comforts of the BoggsMobile. We were set.

By Thursday we completed our travel to our next stop, Bernice, Louisiana. The last night of revival was a soundcheck singalong. It was a great service! We did not realize how special that moment would be for our family.

Sunday morning Dad and I both woke up sick. By 9AM we confirmed it was our first known round of Covid. We had not spent time around people in a week.

Well we rolled with the punches. That afternoon we began the journey home. It took us 2 and half days to complete the trip. Dad’s health battles were just beginning. We would be home for 7 months. He never fully recovered.

This became our last video before life changed! Wow, I am glad we captured this moment forever!  The video has been showing up in my suggested videos for a while. We have been receiving a few new comments on it. I decided to share it today.

Thanks for reading. See you tomorrow!

Foodie Friday 2/14/25

 Hey Friends,

Happy Valentine’s Day! We truly love all of our friends and are thankful to have you in our lives!

Today, we do miss Daddy very dearly! He was the best Valentine!

Most of the time when Dad gave a gift on his own, it was cash. Who doesn't love cash?

He was not a shopper, so it was always special when Daddy would do something to show us his love! When he gave me a gift, I always cherished it a little extra.

Today, one Valentine's memory comes to my mind: We were in Foley, Alabama. He got up early one morning and slipped out of the bus before Mom and I were awake.

He had ordered us to sleep a little extra that day. When we woke, he had come home with food and “real” Yeti 30 oz tumblers for Mom and me.

We were supposed to be on a diet, but he had filled the cups full of chocolates! It made my day! I will have to use that cup today.

Some of my best memories of Dad were enjoying great meals! We had our favorite places to eat across the nation. We would dream about some of those for months before our schedule led us in that direction again.

One such restaurant we stumbled upon in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It is called El Magay, Mexican Buffet. this was a regular stop on our route, even if we had to manipulate the route to get us there. El Magey was our favorite Mexican buffet!

I thought it was fitting to share this video again today. Dad originally recorded and posted this video in February 2022.

It makes for a good Foodie Friday post. The video brings back lots of great memories! I hope you enjoy it! Just remember, the food tasted even better than it looks!

See you next time.

Happy Birthday Daddy 2025

 Hey Friends,

Thank you for dropping by for a visit! We have been in reflection mode this week. A couple of big days are here this week, back to back.

January 15th, last year, Daddy came home from the hospital after the stroke. Click here to visit yesterday’s post

January 16th is my Dad’s birthday! Dad did not like a lot of attention on his birthday. He always wanted to make a big deal about mine or Mom’s, but not his! A blog post is just about all I could get by doing for him.

He does not get a choice this year! We are spending today honoring the great man I got to call Daddy!

Mom and I sat down and reflected on Dad’s last days on earth. He taught us to love God and His greatness always! Dad’s love for his Great God was evident until the end.

Also, we included Dad singing If You Could See Me Now. This video was recorded as part of a church service at my house in April of 2020. We also played it at Dad’s celebration of life. Some people have requested to hear the song again. I figured his birthday was a great day to share it again.

I will close with a note for my Daddy. See you tomorrow.

Happy birthday, Daddy! I love you, “More than a hog loves slop”! You will forever be my superhero!

This is the first time in my lifetime that I could not celebrate your birthday with you in person. Over the years we have celebrated your birthday in a myriad of states and ways! You may not physically be here, but we are still marking this extra special date on the calendar.

In a while we will enjoy a delicious dinner with several family members in your honor! I know there will be tears, laughter and lots of memories! I so wish you could be here with us! You are always dearly missed!

 Love Your Baby Girl, Odie!

Do I Trust You

 Hey Friends,

Kelly and Odie here. We hope you are having a great day. Our Waynesville, Ohio, beach cottage is currently covered in snow. Right now the snow is beautiful!  Mom took this picture late last night.

We are grateful for the nice, warm home that keeps us snug!

Today, we uploaded a new video to the Boggs Family Ministries YouTube channel. Click here to visit our channel.

In this video, we give a small update and sing a favorite song of ours. We went way back to the archives for a song written by Twila Paris.

Do I Trust You is an older song that has helped us through many rough spots. We have sang it around the piano since I was very young. Now, these lyrics bring us solace once more.

We are grateful that we can trust the Lord in every part of life! He is definitely trustworthy. Even though things do not always go our desired direction, we Trust God!

Hopefully, you find encouragement to trust God in your cumstance too! I know He will be there for you as well!

Thanks for stopping by to visit with us! See you tomorrow.

A Word For Wednesday, A Perfect Prayer For Perilous Times, Boggs Family Ministries

We are happy to bring you Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please watch and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

Jude gives us a horrific picture of the apostasy of the last days. But first, he offers a prayer for those of us who live in that apostasy. This prayer is perfect for our perilous times. Jude 1:2 Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied. Wow! What an amazing prayer! May God grant us mercy that we desperately need and peace that passes all understanding and wrap us in the love of God that never fails! And the key to that prayer is for God to multiply all of that! God does not add to us, He multiplies His goodness and His attributes in our lives! Praise God!

Thank you for stopping by today.

A Word for Wednesday, How Deeply May I Drink?

We are happy to bring you Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please watch and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. God will supply All your needs. We seem to relate this mostly to money, but God's storehouse contains much more than money. God's riches contain peace, joy, forgiveness, deliverance, love, compassion and millions of other wonderful things for you and you can drink all you want! God has given you the whole glass and you may drink as deeply as you desire.

Thank you for stopping by today.

A Word For Wednesday, Condemned Or Completely Cleansed?

We are happy to bring you Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please watch and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

We live in condemnation and fear because of our sin. We can not escape detection. We can not hide.

Luke 8:17 For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither [any thing] hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.

We can live in that condemnation or we can live in freedom. We can be forgiven, set free and completely cleansed through Christ.

I John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

This story vividly demonstrates that nothing can be hidden forever!

Thank God for the cleansing power in the blood of Jesus!

A Word For Wednesday, Lowering Your Stress Level During Election Season,

We are happy to bring you Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please watch and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

In the USA, we have a presidential election soon.

Like all presidential elections in the USA, the outcome is critical to our future. With so much at stake, it seems that we could find better candidates than we normally do. Of course, I do not want the job and I imagine most people with much sense, do not want it either.

As in most elections, there is substantial division among the people. People are passionately for or against and anger boils over near constantly on the subject of the presidential election, especially as it approaches.

The hate is extreme!
And the stress can be overwhelming even if you would like to ignore it all. I want to quickly share six simple truths about elections that can lower the stress level during election season.

Thank you for watching.

A Word For Wednesday, A Sermon From An Atheist (An Atheist I Agree With)

We are happy to bring you Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please watch and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

Today I offer you a soul-winning sermon inspired by an atheist. He says among other things,

"How Much do you have to hate somebody to believe everlasting life is possible and not tell them that?"
Wow! That is a statement from an atheist I can wholeheartedly agree with. Sounds like a Christian with a genuine concern for lost souls.

As a favor to me, please share this with others. Thank you.

A Word For Wednesday, Commitment And Dedication, Boggs Family Ministries

We are happy to bring you Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please watch and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

Anything worth doing is worth making a commitment and having the determination to see the thing through. I am thankful that men were determined to risk their lives to form our nation. They were absolutely imperfect and even flawed men but they made a commitment and they determined to follow through.

That, along with many other men and women inspire me to make a firm commitment to Christ and determine to live my life in His service.

Thank you for stopping in today.

A Wordless Wednesday, KJo Jam, Nothing But The Blood and Are You Washed In The Blood

We are so happy to bring you Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please watch and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

While in Thomasville we knew we would be parked in the country this week and had yet to determine if we would have enough signal to load a video. We recorded and uploaded in Thomasville to be sure we did not miss a week. It is a good thing we took care of it last week because signal is limited here.

This is our first A Wordless Wednesday of 2024. KJo is playing Nothing But The Blood and Are You Washed In The Blood. I appreciate Kelly Jo stepping in to help me. I had forgotten about the possibility of A Wordless Wednesday until I was struggling with allergies for a few days and my voice was affected.

We hope you enjoy A Wordless Wednesday and share it with your friends and family.

A Word For Wednesday, We Have The Power to Change The Story, Boggs Family Ministries

Thank you for joining us today. Tonight is the last night of revival in Thomasville and each service has been wonderful so far. We love being in revival and I am thankful that God has helped us. We will have pictures of revival tomorrow or Friday by God's grace.

We are so happy to bring you Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please watch and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

Pastor Bill Parks preached from the book of Jonah recently and his premise blew my mind.
Bro Parks said IF Jonah had obeyed God, the whole book would have been ten verses long. But Jonah added much trouble to his life because of disobedience! If we will obey God instantly He will bring great things to pass and we will avoid so much trouble in our lives by simple obedience. Here is how the book of Job should have read. Two verses in Chapter One 1 Now the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, 2 Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me. And eight verses from Chapter Three. 3 So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days' journey. 4 And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown. 5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them. 6 For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes. 7 And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water: 8 But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands. 9 Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not? 10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

A Word For Wednesday, They Had No Right to Win. But They Did!

Thank you for joining us today. We are so happy to bring you Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please watch and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

They had no right to win. But they did!

I am building on last week's A Word For Wednesday. Can I say this friend? You have no right to win but you can!

"They had no right to win. Yet they did,
And in doing so they changed the course of a war
Even against the greatest of odds,
There is something in the human spirit
A magic blend of skill, faith, and valor
That can lift men from certain defeat to incredible victory."

The odds were against Gideon and Israel and God keeps manipulating the odds against them until they are in an absolutely horrible position. There is no way for them to win and God says that is just right!

Thank you for stopping in today.

A Word For Wednesday, They Say You Can't Do It!, Boggs Family Ministries

Later this morning, there will be a second Mile Marker with pictures from Tuesday Night of Dryden Rd. Indoor Fellowship Meeting.

Thank you for joining us today. We are so happy to bring you Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

The devil says, the devil's crowd says, they say You will lose, but God says you can do it!

The Battle of Midway June 4-7, 1942 demonstrates there is hope for the underdog. I love this quote about the Battle of Midway from Walter Lord. "They had no right to win. Yet they did, And in doing so they changed the course of a war Even against the greatest of odds, there is something in the human spirit A magic blend of skill, faith, and valor
That can lift men from certain defeat to incredible victory."

Thank you for dropping by.

Thinking Of People and A Place That I Love Dearly

My dear friend Bro. Shobanke from Abeokuta, Ogun state, Nigeria turned 80 years old earlier this week. They are combining a celebration of his birthday and 50 years in the ministry with campmeeting.

Originally, it was my plan to be there for this big event and also to dedicate the new church that we helped build earlier this year. I was not physically able to make the trip, but my heart has been aching to be there so badly.

Today I have been looking at videos and pictures from our trip there in November/December 2023. I have been weeping and laughing at the same time at several points during the day.

I love my Nigeria family and I long to be with them. Perhaps God will grant me the privilege to be with them in the near future. Hopefully, it will be sooner rather than later.

If I thought I could handle the long trip, I would have already been there this summer. If I am going to be in one place, unable to preach revivals, it might as well be there as here.

We had saved a little more to send for the school construction. We sent that today along with a little extra for Bro. Shobanke’s 80th birthday. I would rather deliver it in person, but I am thankful to be able to deliver it at all.

I found today that I have videos that I have never posted. I need to get on that. Until then, I will try to post some links below to YouTube videos that we have already posted from our trip to Nigeria and links to pictures.

I hope you enjoy them. You can follow on from these links to more pictures and videos. Thank you.

A Word For Wednesday, Don't Quit Singing, Boggs Family Ministries

Thank you for joining us today. We are so happy to bring you Word For Wednesday. A few moments ago I posted A Word for Wednesday on our YouTube Channel. Please give it a listen and leave us a comment here or on YouTube.

The children of Israel were defeated and in despair and they could not sing even though they were known by their song. They had lost their joy and they quit singing.

Psalm 137:1 By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion. 2 We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof. 3 For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion! 4 How shall we sing the Lord's song in a strange land?
They were dragged away from home and could not sing! They lost their joy and quit singing! Saints of God, we as God's children are known by our song. We can not lose our song. Don't quit singing!

Thank you for stopping by today.
