I have linked to this website before but you have to see this. There is a clip on anti-itch meditation and I have embedded it below. It would be hilarious if it was not dealing with such a serious subject. The Biblical description of folks who are willingly ignorant may well apply here. I do not say that to be unkind but to give you an accurate description.
R.C. Sproul is asked if God wants all men to be saved. It is a very simple question with a very simple Biblical answer, YES. He gives every man a choice but His divine will is for all men to be saved.
However being a dyed in the wool Calvinist, Mr. Sproul can not say "Yes, God wants all men to be saved" even though the Bible plainly teaches Yes, God wants all men to be saved. How much plainer can you get than it is not God's will that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
As a Calvinist Mr. Sproul believes that God created some men to be lost. There is no way that those men can be saved. Christ did not die for them and will not save them even if they ask. They probably will not ask because grace is not extended to them. Those that are meant to be saved will be saved because God makes them be saved. He does not want to say that so he resorts to verbal gymnastics.
The extreme length R.C. Sproul resorts to in order to explain away scripture is absolutely ridiculous. It is much easier to simply believe the Bible and make your doctrine fit the Bible. Once you swallow a doctrine and believe your doctrine at all costs then you have to make the Bible fit your doctrine and you end up looking pretty silly.
Watch for yourself and make sure you visit anti-itch meditation because Jeff Weddle sets this up perfectly.
Thanks for reading.
