Weekend Woundup and Weview November 16

Rather than spend two nights in an RV park along the interstate some where watching the cars go by we decided to detour a very few miles and park near Jacksonville. The parks in the south are mostly full this time of year with snowbirds from the north but we snagged a spot at a place north of Jacksonville by the airport.

Two days we drove about 35-40 minutes to the coast. It has been years since we have been on the Florida coast and touched the Atlantic Ocean. I grew up loving the ocean but I sure have not spent much time near it as an adult.

This is Neptune Beach just north of Jacksonville Beach and east of the city of Jacksonville, Florida.

There was way too much sand to cross with a wheelchair there so we did not get very close to the water. We really enjoyed watching the waves though.

The next day we visited the ocean at a spot a little farther north. This is a Jacksonville City Park called Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park. It has a nice campground and a beautiful beach. Most of the camp sites are too small for the BoggsMobile but there were a few we could park in for future reference. All the sites had 50 amps, water and sewer.

It was quite a chore to get Odie to the water but we got er done!

About half way through the deep stuff!

When we left the park we went north on A1A and crossed St. John's River on the ferry. This boat below is not the ferry but a boat that was passing by.

There were a bunch of old cars in town.

Here is the Green Machine on the ferry.

Here is the BoggsMobile at Pecan RV Park north of Jacksonville.

We pulled out of the campground Saturday close to 11:00 AM. We had a short drive, less than 140 miles, so we were in no hurry. It was a beautiful day to travel and we had no problems at all.

We did make one stop on the way. We stopped in Waycross, Georgia at Staples. I usually order our printer ink cartridges online but we have been printing so much for City Reach correspondence that I let the black run out. We stopped to buy one because I have a bunch of letters I tried to print Friday night.

Soon we were in Douglas, Georgia walking into one of the pretty churches I know about.

Here is the BoggsMobile backed in place but ready to go at a moments notice!

Saturday afternoon and evening Kelly Jo and Odie when shopping for school supplies for Nigeria. I mentioned back in October we would be sending a suitcase of supplies for the GoodNews Christian School in Abeokuta. We hope to ship the supplies to Bro. Sam Snow it Texas so Saturday was time to buy!

Sunday was a great day at First Assembly in Douglas, Georgia. We had two great services with Pastor Marshall Adcock and all of his fine folks. Here are just a few pictures from the day. We hope to post more on Wednesday.

It was great to have our wonderful friends from Moultrie.

I hope your weekend went well too. Thanks for reading and checking on us.
