Sis. Mary Isham

The funeral service for Sis. Mary Isham Wednesday evening was beautiful and sweet. That was very fitting and proper for a beautiful, sweet and Godly lady. God blessed her family and friends, especially her husband Joel. Bro. Joel had written a poem about his dear wife and God touched him AND all of us as he read it. Praise God for it!

The nature of our work and the path we travel all over the country makes it impossible for us to attend most of the funerals we would love to attend. That is hard to take some times.

However, I am so glad when it does work for us to be there during times like this. It is a blessing to gather with family and friends. God often provides rest and comfort in the love and embrace of loving people. We love being a part of that, both giving and receiving comfort.

I have been reminded once more that the ultimate comfort comes from God Himself. God gives us our hope and our comfort when He reminds us of the resurrection that is to come.

I Thessalonians 4:13  But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

That is our comfort, friends! Christ arose and our loved ones that die in the faith will rise up with Him and we will meet them in the air, never to depart again! Praise God!

Bro. Joel closed the funeral last by playing a recording of a song that Sis. Mary wrote and recorded on her iPad before she knew she was sick. He thought it a little strange when she wrote it but now understands the providence of God.

Final Destination
Verse:Now this world is full of troublSo much worry so much pain But one day we'll see our savior And He will take our pain away.
Chorus:For there's a final destination When we reach our final home Where the angels are rejoicing Where we'll sing a brand new song
Verse:Now if you haven't gotten ready Don't wait too late to pray For the Lord is getting ready He's gonna take his bride away.
Verse:
Now this world where I am living
This is not my final home
I'm just waiting for my Jesus
Soon He will take me to my home!
Sis. Mary Isham

That is exactly what happened. Sis. Mary went home. Very sad for her husband, her family, her friends and for her church. But Oh what a great day for Mary!

Thanks for reading.
