I need to bring you up to date on the house. Thursday afternoon the HVAC guys and plumbers came to do their work that must be completed before concrete. The rain had slowed everything down so all the work needed to be finished at once.
We really had a hard time finding some one that would put the heating and air ducts in the slab but we did not want cold floors for Odie. We considered building on a crawl space but decided against it. We did not know about some of these difficulties
Jeff Haines from Haines Heating and Cooling agreed to do it and they did a fabulous job so far. They worked until after dark and then came back the next morning and finished up in an hour or so. I am very pleased with their work.
The plumbers came back Friday, Saturday and Monday. They finished up and passed their inspection Monday afternoon. We are glad to have one more inspection behind us. I do appreciate the fact that everything must be built to a uniform standard but the thought of inspections always makes me a little apprehensive.
I included this picture of Odie with David Butler yesterday but it is worth posting again.
Especially since I want to write some more about David Butler. There were quite a few decisions to be made Monday as well as some on the fly engineering that needed to take place. David stepped up to the plate and hit a home run. He is going way beyond the call of duty and I appreciate it very, very much.
All of that put David in a bind, through no fault of his own. But he should be ready for his inspection today and he is planning to pour the slab Wednesday morning. That is terrific news. Thank you, Bro. David Butler for all you are doing. May God bless you for it.
I also appreciate my Dad and Mom and my brother Steve for checking on things, running errands and keeping things going. I would not want to attempt this without them.
That brings you up to date. If all goes as planned, progress will keep moving forward over the next 10 days or so.
Thank you for stopping in today.
Davy
