This may come as a complete shock to some of us.
God's priority for our lives is not that we be Happy. However, real Joy, which is infinitely better than happiness, IS a direct byproduct of God's priority for our lives.
God's priority for our lives is that we be Holy.
15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
I Peter 1
