Vintage View Vednesday - The Blue and White Gospel Tent

We are having a wonderful time this week in tent revival in Central City, Kentucky. The Lord is blessing, saving and helping under the Blue and White Gospel Tent. We are enjoying every moment of it.

As I was sitting under the tent the other morning savoring the presence of the Lord, my mind drifted back to the first time we put this particular tent up. Those were exciting times for our family.

This tent first went up in March 2012 in Citronelle, Alabama for Pastor Gaylon Cunningham and Pastor Darius Templeton. Our first tent revival was 11 years before and by 2011 we did 8 tent revivals that summer in a 30x40 white tent. Over the winter, we ordered the Blue and White Tent and we were excited to set it up for the first time.

We were working with the Whatley Church and the Cedar Creek Church and we all met on the designated morning to set up the tent. The procedure of setting this tent up has evolved into a pretty smooth process and I am sure it was not as smooth that first time.

However, I do remember it went up really well. We did have a wind gust as we were beginning to set up the poles and we had to take it back down to the ground for a few moments and allow the wind to pass. That could have gotten someone hurt, but thankfully all was well.

I have pictures of the setup in today's Vintage View Vednesday along with pictures of the first night and later on in the week. This tent has now been up at least 60 times in at least 15 states and it will be up in a new state this year. I remember the excitement that first night in Alabama and we feel that same stirring each and every time the service begins under the Blue and White Gospel Tent.

I hope you enjoy these pictures of the first time our tent went up and of the first services under it. I love every one of them. Thank you for reading.
