Wednesday was another day to crank up the BoggsMobile and drive a while. We were up early to get it ready to ride and here it is.
Wednesday's drive was special because we had two new passengers on the BoggsMobile. Here they are!
We have owned the BoggsMobile for over 13 years and this is the first time that my parents have climbed on the bus with us to ride down the road. We were absolutely thrilled to have them!
Where should we go? HWY 42 is within sight of our driveway and all we had to do and turn north on 42 and drive 68 miles.
Our destination? We were off again to Der Dutchman in Plain City, Ohio. traveling north on 42 takes you through some rolling hills into flatland farm country. There were fields of corn and soybeans as far as the eye could see. It was beautiful!
We all had the buffet and I had a side order of grilled beef liver and onions! Wow! Wonderful!
Odie even found a new sign.
An Interesting Side Note
I mentioned that Dad and Mom had never gone anywhere with us on the bus. However, my Dad actually rode on the bus several months before we did. How did that happen?
KJo found the bus that became the BoggsMobile online in 2007 and we purchased it near the end of March 2008. We negotiated back and forth for several months. My parents were in Florida, less than 50 miles from where the bus was on a dealer's lot.
I ask Dad and my friend, Bro. Chris Whiffen to drive to Sanford, Florida and look it over. They looked it over and Bro. Whiffen drove it while Dad checked out the ride. He even laid down on the bed while the bus was going down the road.
After 13 years, Dad was back on the bus. I was glad to have him in the co-pilot seat next to me.
I wish we could do more of that!
After a wonderful lunch, we drove back to the Ranch, arriving about 5 hours after we left. It was a great day and we loved every minute of it. We have now driven the bus about 500 miles in the last couple of weeks and I am pleased with how it is running. I am confident it is ready to go and I am very happy about that!
Look what I found in the store at Der Dutchman. What is wrong with this picture?
Thank you for riding with us, friends.
