Friday we were scheduled to preach in Waynesboro, Virginia for Bro. Troy Shifflett. He and his family have an outreach service in Waynesboro once each week. They are beginning to have some Friday night services too and last week was their first one. They had a preacher slated to be there, but he had to cancel. We were conveniently in Elkton so we got the call. We were thrilled to do it.
Waynesboro is about 40 minutes from Elkton, but we lengthened the trip somewhat. Instead of going straight there, we drove up to Skyline Drive and turned south 40 miles. It ends in Waynesboro close to the church, so that gave us a chance to see some scenery while on the way.
I will have more pictures from Skyline later.
Our friend Bro. Matt Sponaugle from BHC, told us about a taco truck near the Waynesboro church. We arrived early enough to check it out. This truck has a well earned reputation for good tacos and slow service, but thankfully the tacos were great AND they were ready in under 15 minutes.
Saturday afternoon we prepared the BoggsMobile to ride.
We were only driving 40 miles to Staunton, Virginia so we were in no rush. We took it nice and easy and arrived about 5:00 PM. Pastor Keith May was waiting on us. He and some others helped us get parked and then we went to eat...Mexican, of course!
We were with Bro. May and his folks both services Sunday. We have known some of these people for many years, but this was our first visit to Beacon of Hope Holiness Church. All day was outstanding!
God blessed in the services, the fellowship was grand and the food was good too. There is not much to dislike about a weekend like that. We look forward to coming back soon!
Thank you for visiting us for a few minutes today. God bless you, friends.
