Today I have a very special Mile Marker. In fact, this one is a literal Mile Marker.
In January 2016 as we were on our way to Livingston, Texas, the BoggsMobile rolled over 300,000 miles on the odometer. It was a big day. I wrote a post about it and I said the following at the end of the post.
At the rate we are going I should be writing about turning over 400,000 miles sometime in 2022 or 2023. Save the date, I will be looking forward to it!
I turned out to be correct, but it was a total accident. Actually, I underestimated our future mileage. Over the next four years we averaged 18,000 miles each year. IF we had experienced a full year of travel in 2020 and 2021, we would have ticked off another 100,000 miles by the middle of 2021, nearly a year ago.
Because of the world shutting down in 2020 and my body shutting down in 2021, we drove way fewer miles than normal.
However, we have picked up the pace in 2022. On May 21, about 35 miles east of Amarillo, Texas on I-40, the BoggsMobile rolled over 400,000 miles. That is quite a Mile Marker for us!
I pulled over and took a picture of the bus. Here it sets by I-40 with exactly 400,000 miles!
KJo was right there with me!
We are incredibly thankful the BoggsMobile runs so good and consistently. I pray every time I start it up and usually praise God for how it is running multiple times each day! Praise God!
The BoggsMobile is a 1995 Prevost XL that was built in early 1995. The Vantare conversion was completed in late 1995 in Sanford, Florida and is titled as a 1996 Prevost Vantare. 400,000 miles is low mileage for 27+ years!😍
We should be reporting on 1/2 million miles by the summer of 2028 IF we are still alive and IF the world is still functioning as we know it. Both of those may be big IFs.
I am sure of one thing, He's got it all in control!
Thank you for reading today's special Mile Marker.
