It has been a wonderful weekend. The weather has been and still is very cold, but it has been a wonderful weekend. We will have more pictures later this week, but we will share a few with you today.
The weekend began with a horrible dip in temperatures and a drastic rise in wind speed. At 8:00 Friday morning it was minus 8 degrees with wind chill, feel like temperature of minus 34 degrees.
The wind was whipping snow all day long and it was bad cold. The wind was drifting snow and driving snow into places it had never been. This is inside the sliding door on the side of the barn. That western side was directly in the wind.
Wow again! Nothing has melted since then and may not melt for a couple more days.
We were supposed to leave about 9:30 Saturday morning and celebrate Christmas with Kelly Jo's family in Hillsboro. We had snow drifted over 2 feet deep on Odie's driveway and it had to be removed in order to get the Jeep out of the garage.
There was nothing to do but get to work.
It took us 90 minutes to get enough removed to get the Jeep. We would have had to remove more without 4 wheel drive.
We had a wonderful time with KJo's family Saturday.
The next two pictures are from Sunday. I was trying to show the piles of snow.
We have had much more snowfall in times past, but the drifting was amazing. Several nearby roads were completely unpassable until they were plowed. I am talking about a few feet of snow blown over the road. AND it was so cold!
Thank God for good heat and lots of warm clothes.
Sunday morning we had Christmas service. I hope everyone enjoyed it.
Then we opened Christmas presents at Odie's.
One of the gifts Odie purchased for me is a new phone case. The new phone case came with an owner's manual.
What? An owner's manual for the phone case, but the phone no longer comes with a phone case? Hehe😍
The main event for the day was Christmas with the Boggs family next door at Dodds. We gathered together near 3:00 and spent the rest of the day together.
We will have more pictures as the week goes by. Thank you for stopping in.
