God’s Goodness Continues

 Odie’s View From The Back.
Hey Friends!!  We have had a grand summer! I hope all of you have as well.
I left off last time in Claremore, Oklahoma. We had a wonderful week with Pastor Darrell Meadow and everyone at Westside Holiness Church.  On the final service of tent revival nearly 40 people were baptized. They set up a pool under the tent. It was an awesome service.
Next we set the tent up in Miami, Oklahoma. It is always great fun being with Pastor Mike Stephens and the crew at Faith Pentecostal. They are always ready for revival. We have been there in extreme COLD and HEAT and it never fails God comes by to save and encourage!!!!
It was an honor to have Bro. Jimmy and Sis. Shauna  Millikin working with us on both the Claremore and Miami, Oklahoma revivals.  They are an awesome help to the meetings and we love having them with us.  We are looking forward to them joining with us even more in 2013.
Also we owe a big thank you to Bro. Colten Cravatt and Bro. Caleb Bontrager. Both young men helped with  several tent revivals this summer and we appreciate it so much.
It was so good to be with all of our friends at Allen Church near Reeds Spring, Missouri. Thanks for the warm welcome!! We love you all!
In early July we pointed our rig toward the big Tent Revival in Montana. It is always a joy to be with Pastor Mike Metzger and the Sun Valley Church!! They had been planning, preparing and praying for this meeting since February 1st.
They had youth service under  the tent in the morning, a big lunch, VBS in the church in the afternoon and Tent Revival every evening. Everyone worked so hard to make it a success. God helped and moved in every service.
We had visitors join us from Oklahoma, California, Illinois and Indiana. Why don’t you plan to meet us in Montana next July?
The end of July we made it to sunny Wichita, Kansas. God continues to do wonderful things for Pastor John DiZazzo and his congregation.  Revival was very good each night.  The final night it was capped off by four people praying for salvation!! It is proof to me that God sees the big picture better than me!
Next, the “Blue and White Gospel Tent” was set up at 1325 N Avenue, as Pastor Brian Hisle says. It was a great week in New Castle, Indiana. We pray the Lord continues to move at Trinity Full Gospel Tabernacle.
It was an honor to be at Sharonville Free Holiness Church of God in Sharonville, Ohio for their Homecoming service. Thanks to Pastor Randy Brown for having us at your church. We enjoyed it so much.
That Sunday night we were at our home church at Dryden Road. It was so wonderful to be with our Pastor Bro. Bennie Sutherland and church family!!
While in Ohio it was good to be in service with Pastor Rex Lloyd and everyone at Dodds! Thanks for being so kind to us.
The Hodgenville Pentecostal Church has been bringing the Gospel to Hodgenville, Kentucky for 50 years. We were thrilled to join in the Jubilee Celebration with Pastor David Webb and congregation.
Campmeeting 2012 at Dryden Road Pentecostal Church was a time for the backslider to come home.  Bro. Dwain Galiher and Bro.  Shad McDonald did a wonderful job bringing us the word of God!! It is always refreshing to see  our home church getting much needed help!!!!
Trinity Pentecostal Church in Central City, Kentucky welcomed us again this year for Homecoming and revival. We always love being with Pastor Alan Harris!! He is such a Punny man. Yes, I do mean Punny.
For the fourth week in a row we had Homecoming on Sunday. This week found us in Dothan, Alabama. Seven years now Mt. Sinai Holiness Tabernacle has been in existence. May God continue to bless Pastor Dewayne Watson and family for their labors!!
Well, I hear the engine starting so I better go ‘cause we’re On the Road Again.

Herr's Horseradish Cheddar Potato Chips

While we were in New Castle, Indiana the Hisles introduced us to a new flavor of Herr's potato chips. I was seriously hooked by Herr's Horseradish Cheddar Potato Chips from the first bite!

I have never had a chip with so much flavor. It bursts with the taste of horseradish. I mean it will even burn your sinus passages like a good dose of chopped horseradish will.

We shared them with family and with several folks at Dryden Rd. campmeeting. Most liked them but there was not much neutral reaction.

If they liked horseradish then they pretty much loved the chips. If they did not like horseradish then they thought we were absolutely nuts!

So far we have not been able to find them any where else but New Castle. We will certainly be on the look out. If you find them, buy a bag and let us know what you think.

While eating some yesterday I found a heart shaped chip. It sums up just how we feel about Herr's Horseradish Cheddar Potato Chips.

I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

Nigeria in November and December

It is time to ramp up preparations for our trip to Nigeria the end of November. We can apply for Visas at the Nigerian embassy up to 90 days before the trip so this is the week to do it. Once we receive the Visas we can make our flight reservations.

The ticket prices for the flights we need have been down some this summer (about $1,200 each) and we hope those prices will hold for a few more weeks. We have previously seen prices as high as $2,000 each so there can be quite a spread.

Pastor Fellers from Weir, Kansas is planning to go with us and help with the Ministers Conference. We are excited about that. Pastor Fellers has known Bro. Shobanke for many years. Bro. Shobanke has wanted him in Nigeria for a long while so he is excited as well. It will be great to have Bro. Fellers along!

We plan to do a Ministers Conference at Bro. Shobanke's church in Abeokuta and an outdoor Gospel Crusade too. We are planning to preach a revival in a new church and to preach in Pastor Kuye's church in Ibadan. We are excited about each meeting. I can not wait to be there among my brothers and sisters.

We have been so occupied with tent revivals that we are not as prepared for this trip as we should be at this point. Please pray for us that we can pull all the necessary pieces together in the next 70-80 days.

There is not only a lot of expense in making the trip, but I do not want to be empty handed when I go. Every where I look in Nigeria I see needs that require money and I want us to be able to meet some of those needs.

We like to take offerings for the churches, the various ministries they support, interpreters, other preachers and special projects as we are led. We are looking forward to doing that again this year. We believe we will be able to do it by God's grace.

Many of you let us know that you pray for Nigeria on a regular basis. Thank you. They need it. There is much unrest in Nigeria. Although most of the danger is in the northern part of the nation all of the people need God's help.

It is amazing how many people desire prayer that we meet on the streets, in the airports and in the hotels. I was ask to pray for two solders last time who were inspecting luggage in the airport.

After I knew what they were requesting, I laid hands on their heads and prayed for them with hundreds of people around. No one even batted an eye. Here at home the bystanders would think you were nuts and probably would not hesitate to say it loudly!

So there is a great opportunity for us to minister to others well beyond the church services. We need all the prayer cover you can provide while we are there. We want to used of God in Nigeria.

May God bless you as you pray.

Mt. Sinai Holiness Tabernacle Homecoming in Pictures

We have had a great day at Mt. Sinai Holiness Tabernacle today. We had Homecoming service at 11:00 and then a wonderful meal. Yes this is my forth Sunday in a row saying that and it is all true!

After the meal we went back in for singing and the Lord wonderfully blessed. Praise God for His faithfulness.

We have no service tonight so we are resting right now. We may try to end another day with ice cream after while. How does that sound?

I hope you enjoy the pictures of this beautiful church.

Here are a few pictures of the BoggsMobile at Mt. Sinai. You can see how much better the wheels look.

The picture with the Green Machine reflecting in the stainless was an accident but I think it's pretty neat.

Welcome to The Deep South

We made the rest of the trip to Dothan, Alabama today and arrived about 1:30 this afternoon. We were able to pull into the church with the trailer so it is parked right next to us.

After we cleaned up we went to Lowe's for a hose fitting and then Golden Corral for Breakfast/Lunch about 4:00. It was so good.

We visited with Bro. Watson and his family for an hour or so and then they helped us carry in the sound equipment. We quickly washed the bugs and grime off the BoggsMobile and then went with the Watsons for an ice cream.

It is so hot and humid down here that ice cream was the perfect way to end the day. Seriously though, ice cream is a great way to end any day.

We have been in some excessive heat this summer but we have been spared the humidity until now. I would say I sweated off a few more pounds today! What a great diet.

We have Homecoming service tomorrow and a big meal afterward. This Sunday marks seven years for Bro. Watson and the Mt. Sinai Holiness church. We are thrilled to be a part of it.

We have been coming here since the very beginning and we love these folks so much. We are expecting a great service tomorrow and a good revival all week long.

Odie stayed home while we went for ice cream and prepared for tomorrow. We came home to this.

It took some convincing but she consented to this picture being taken and posted. Applicants for her hand in marriage may form a line to the right.

Please, please let's have some order. That's right form a single file line to the right.

Interesting Travel Day - God is Faithful

Thursday ended late and Friday started early. This morning I pulled the BoggsMobile in the wash bay at Prevost and the guys from "Almost Chrome" polished the wheels for me.

This is the first time I have had it done and they needed it badly! They look great. We drove through some rain today so they are probably dull now but they will clean up so much better.

We transferred the sound system from the Green Machine to the bus. Then hooked the trailer to the bus and loaded the Green Machine in the trailer. Confused yet?

We pulled out of Prevost and headed South. About 20 miles later on the south side of Nashville my "No Charge" light came on and my battery voltage dropped from 26-27 down to 24.

I pulled off the interstate and after checking the voltage and asking advice from The bus expert, I decided to go back to Prevost. They were waiting on me and found the problem right away.

The big cable off the alternator was broken right at the connection. They put a new end on the wire and replaced a relay that had performed its job well. It is supposed to short out and save the rest of the electronics and it did just that.

So about 2 1/2 hours after we left the first time we headed south again. A few miles below where we had the trouble we encountered a traffic jam. The cause of the jam was an accident involving a tanker truck and other vehicles.

We were stopped for about an hour on the interstate before the road was cleared. That's not too big of a hassle when you travel with all the conveniences of home including food!

The wreck was only a few miles below where we turned back to Prevost and obviously happened after we turned around so maybe the alternator trouble spared us. God knows!

Either way, we are so glad it happened close to Prevost. We really believe God has everything under control. He knows exactly what we need and we really do not have a clue.

With all the delay and stress we did not make it as far as we planned. We drove 293 miles including the 42 mile loop in the beginning.

We stopped about 8:30 at a rest area on I-65 in Alabama. I think we have about 160 miles to finish the trip to Dothan. Should not take too long tomorrow if all goes well.

It did rain on us some today but no high winds and we are thankful for that. We thank God for Ben Isaacs and the folks at Prevost Nashville too. God used them to keep us on the road! Thank you all.
