Weekend Wound UP and Weport June 22, 2015

This was one of the first things I saw Friday morning. It is a multi-battery isolator and it is the latest part replacement on the BoggsMobile. I will tell you more about it in a later post. For those that are curious it did seem to cure the problems. Thank the Lord!

We had a great service to finish revival Friday night with at least two people rededicating their lives to the Lord. We sure had a great time of revival at Bethany Revival Center this week and we appreciate all of their hospitality. You can see pictures from revival HERE and we also have several more pictures from Friday at the end of this post.

We bid farewell to our friends Saturday morning, cranked the BoggsMobile and pointed toward the east. I stopped at the Flying J in Emporia, Kansas to top off a few tires, empty the holding tanks and to check on the electrical repairs that I made. We stopped for fuel at Quick Trip in St. Peters, Missouri and a couple other times for a quick break and that was about it.

We pulled into the Flying J in Effingham, Illinois Saturday evening after 539 miles of pretty smooth sailing. It was supposed to be 99 in Wichita so I was afraid it would be a hot day of driving but it was in the 70's when we left early morning and it stayed in the mid 80's as we crossed Missouri in the heat of the day. It was a beautiful drive.

After we were settled we unhooked the car and drove about a mile to the Ryan's here which is also a familiar stop for us. We were all beat when we got back so we cranked the generator and went to bed before dark. I was asleep by 9:00.

Unfortunately I only stayed asleep until 2:00 AM. When I woke up, I knew that I was finished. I laid there until 3:00 and then I got up and worked on several computer and bookkeeping projects as quietly as I could. About 7:00 I stretched out on the couch and dozed until 9:00.

The weather was good again for driving and we were parked in the barn by a little after 4:00 PM.

It was after 5:00 before I was finished hooking up and putting stuff away. I cleaned up and ate a quick bite before walking over to Dodds for service Sunday night.

My parents came over after church for a few minutes and visited. It was good to see Dad on Father's Day.

That pretty much wraps up our weekend. Thanks for reading.

Pictures from Friday in Wichita.

It was nice to have our good friend Terry Cummins with us Friday night. It is always great to see him. He works all over the world so we never know where he may drop in.

Kelly and Odie made it to Braum's Friday night without their phones and the space on my phone was full.. Thankfully a few other were willing to share their pictures with us.

Bro. Joe Diminico brought us a bottle of wonderful Torciano olive oil straight from the "old country." Mama Mia! Thanks, Bro. Joe!

Sis. Jenny Small took these next several and sent them to us. Thanks Sis. Jenny.

View Out The Front Window June 21, 2015

Happy Father's Day to my Dad and to all the Dad's reading. God bless you on your special day. My regular Sunday post is below the poem for all the Dads and my Dad in particular.

You Taught Me

Dad, you bought me a bike when I was three and taught me how to ride.
You pushed a while and then let go, I thought you were beside.
You said I picked it up real quick and said I went fast too.
Dad, my only dream when I was young was to go half as fast as you.

You taught me how to bat and how to throw a ball.
While others came to play the game, You said “son, give it your all”.
I loved it Dad when the crowd would scream, “hit it out of here”.
But, Dad, I hit that ball with all my might just to hear you cheer.

You taught me how to swim and dive.  We had so much fun.
You’d bury me up to my neck in the sand and bake me in the sun.
You’d throw us in and jump in too, we’d scream and splash and shout.
When the sun went down and we had to go home, you had to nearly pull us out.

Playing football in the fall, I’d run and push and fight.
I’d work all week and kill myself to play on Friday night.
Every game I’d push the limit trying to do my best.
You were standing at the thirty-yard line, I wanted to pass your test.

You taught me how to work, Dad, although I didn’t like it then.
You taught me the value of a hard days work, when to save and when to spend.
You taught me to respect other people and how to put others first.
To say sir and mam, please and thank-you, to see people at their best and not their worst.

There’s one thing you’ve taught me often, Dad, that I’ve been slow to learn.
“Take care of the name I’ve given you son, It’s something I’ve had to earn.”
There’s been several times, through the years, when my head’s hung in shame.
When I’ve drug the name you’ve given me through the mud. I know it’s caused you pain.

But you’ve been faithful to me, through the good times and the bad.
When you should have left me in defeat, You’ve been there for me Dad.
You were there to pick up the pieces, though I lost when I should have won.
The greatest thing you’ve taught me Dad is how deeply you love your son.

The bats and balls and other things have faded in the past.
I’m trying to trade these temporal things for something that will last.
I’m sure I’ve got a lot to learn.  I’ve only just begun.
But the greatest thing you’ve taught me, Papa, is how deeply The Father Loves His sons.

Some times it feels like we are going in great big circles. Now I know why.

We parked overnight at Flying J in Effingham, Illinois in the exact same parking spot where we spent the night 13 nights and 1655 miles ago. We are in the same spot but facing the opposite direction.

We had our oil changed across the street at Speedco and emptied our holding tanks right here at Flying J 1912 miles before that on April 18th.

And I parked here in this same spot and tried to sleep a few hours 4356 miles before that on December 10 as we were rushing home to be with Kelly Jo's family during her Dad's open heart surgery.

No wonder I get dizzy and lightheaded at times.

Here is our view outside the front window at Flying J in Effingham, Illinois.

Here is our view out the front door.

Thanks for checking in.

Happy Father's Day 2015

Hey friends!  It is Odie writing to you today from the road. I hope you had a great week. We had a wonderful week of revival and fellowship in Wichita, Kansas.

It is always a blast to be with our friends at Bethany Revival Center. Pastors John and Judy DiZazzo are a bundle of fun.  The best part of our week was our revival services! The Lord showed up and blessed us every night! God's power never ceases to amaze me!

Tomorrow our nation will celebrate Father's Day. I want to wish all the Fathers a very happy Father's day.

I am truly grateful for the Daddy God blessed me with! I am thankful God put me in the home that He did. I have been blessed to be raised under Godly influence and Godly examples.

Daddy, I love you more than a hog loves slop! I want to show you my appreciation not only on Father's Day but always! I am thankful God placed you in my life. I am truly grateful you have taught me Holiness is right! Thank you for your never failing love! I know I will always be Daddy's baby!

Here are a couple pictures of pictures from 1985. These were taken when I was in the NICU at Miami Valley Hospital. From the very beginning my Dad has always been at my side!

I was trying to find pictures to use for this post and I found these pictures from Father's Day 2014. We were home in Ohio for revival at our home church, Dryden Road Pentecostal Church.

Have a wonderful Father's Day weekend!

Odie
