Our View In Alaska Thursday Through Saturday #3

Odie made it to Montana yesterday with no problems at all. The Metzger family met her at the airport in Missoula and she is in good hands until we arrive late tomorrow night.

Are you tired of pictures yet? I hope not because we have a whole lot more to come. I wish today's pictures could tell the whole story.

Thursday - Hubbard Glacier

This set of pictures finishes our adventure trip getting to Alaska and includes the first two days driving around and touring. Thursday we sailed right up to and viewed the Hubbard Glacier. It was an incredible day. Absolutely Awesome!

First we sailed up through the narrow point and stood in awe in the freezing cold on July 2nd as the huge glacier came into view.

There it is! Hubbard Glacier is 76 miles long, 7 miles wide and is still advancing about 80 feet per year. It is breathtaking.

It is 350 feet above the water.

Huge pieces routinely break off and fall into the deep water. It sounds like very loud rolling thunder when it happens. The calving, as it is called, is completely natural and is not due to global warming.

Friday in Seward and Anchorage and points north.

Friday we arrived in Seward, took a bus to Anchorage, rented a van and then set off exploring for the evening north of Anchorage.

Saturday we drove all the way to Homer, Alaska and back to Anchorage. It was beautiful! We saw salmon, trout, moose and breathtaking scenery. Incredible!

On the way back we stopped to fill up with gas and to take a quick break about 35 miles south of Anchorage. A few miles up the road we came across this small plane that had just made and emergency landing on the road.

It was another tremendous day in Alaska. The next two were even better and I will have those pictures later.

Off To Big Sky Country!

Hello,

It is Odie writing again. Most of the day I will be traveling by air to Montana. It will be great to be with the Metzger family again! We love them so much and love being in their home and church. My parents will join me in Montana this weekend. I am looking forward to seeing them again.

It is a good possibility that we will not have enough signal to post much while in Montana. Dad is going to try to schedule some Alaska picture posts over the next few days but if you do not hear much from us you will know why.

Before I fly out I wanted to give you some great food pictures to feast on.

This week I visited Acapulco twice for lunch. It is still the best Mexican food around. If you are near Lebanon, Ohio I highly recommend this restaurant!

Monday's lunch we had some girl first cousin time. It was wonderful catching up with Deidre and Lauren. Next month they both will head to college. Deidre will be a senior this year and Lauren will be a freshman.

Monday night I had a blast hanging out with Theresa, Jay, Lauren, Luke, Tommy, Holly and Jonas. Thanks for inviting me along for pizza and Ice cream!

Tuesday Deidre and I along with Lisa  landed  back at Acapulco one final time for this visit home. It was extremely yummy. I know I will taste it again very soon!

We then journeyed on to West Chester, Ohio. We have planned for a while to check out the IKEA store. I will have pictures from that in a later post.

Have wonderful day!

Morgan Family Adventures

Hey Friends,
This is Odie once again. If you have not seen Sunday and Monday's post, check them out. I know there will be many more breath taking Alaskan pictures to come.

I am excited to hear a complete update from the great adventure of 2015!  I know my parents and their traveling crew has had a superb time.

Today I wanted to show y'all some more pictures from my time in Hillsboro with my Mom's family.

Last Monday afternoon we were hanging out at my Aunt and Uncles. We were having a great evening enjoying food and laughing. Then we were alerted to a tornado warning in their county. We hightailed it to my grandparents, at this point it was sunny.

We could tell a storm was brewing. Thankfully we made it to the basement before the storm hit. Praise God we were all safe. It was definitely a Kansas, Oklahoma type of storm. It really could have been much worse.

What could I do during the storm? Take pictures for the blog. My family thought I was crazy.

Seth was worried.

The boys thought they were protected huddled under a blanket.

Thursday in was the beginning of the Festival of the Bells in Hillsboro. My Uncle's church had a booth selling Pepsi products. It was a long but fun day to cap off my Morgan family time.

Please pray for a young lady named Lacey. She works at the diner that was near the church's booth. Lacey needs God's help. Her 4 year old child has brain tumors.

I am thrilled I was a able to have a few days with the Morgan crew. Thanks to my awesome family for all your help along the way! I love you all so much!

Today is my last full day in Ohio. Pray for me I plan to fly out to Montana tomorrow morning.
