Revival In Pictures - Castle Rock, Colorado

First, a personal note: I am having a problem with my right jaw and I need a touch from God. It seemed I had a bad tooth so I went to a dentist at home the end of May. He could find nothing at all wrong with the tooth. It has been hurting ever since.

The last few days we were in Montana I thought I was gaining ground but this week the pain has really turned on. The frequency of the pain and the severity of the pain are now getting worse. It hurts by turns in the tooth, the tooth behind it, the tooth above it and in the jaw bone itself with no rhyme or reason.

It has taken me nearly an hour to type this late Sunday night in between spells of pain. I am willing to admit I am a wimp and that I have a severe allergy to pain but this is really bad. Kelly Jo and Odie have been praying for me and the Lord just came by so sweetly. We are praising God for every moment of relief but I desire to be healed! Please, please pray for me.

Revival In Pictures

We have had a wonderful revival this week at Liberty Holiness Tabernacle near Castle Rock, Colorado. As we mentioned earlier this is a pioneer work and we are very blessed to be a part of trying to get this church off the ground. God has sent them several preachers in the last 1 1/2 years and we are pleased to be added to that list. Please pray that God would continue to help Pastor James McCoy and his family to make an impact on lives for Christ in this part of Colorado.

I hope you enjoy the Revival In Pictures. Thanks for reading.

View From The Front Window July 26, 2015

Check out our posts from the last week at the links below.

Castle Rock is situated with absolutely beautiful views of the mountains in several directions. The view is fantastic but from our door... not so much.

This is our view from the window.

This is the view from the church. It is really beautiful at the church.

We are finishing revival at Liberty Holiness Tabernacle in Castle Rock tonight. Hopefully I will have pictures from revival up tomorrow morning.

I hope you have a great Sunday.

We Miss You Jacqueline "Jackie" D. Cook

Hey, it is Odie writing to you today from gorgeous Colorado. We are having a super time with Pastor James McCoy and family! They are actually extended family members. We have not crossed paths with them often over the years so it has been especially good to catch up with them this week!

Wednesday evening my Mom's first cousin Jackie passed away. Jackie was a precious person. In her 38 years of life she faced many struggles and she was a trooper!

Our last time seeing Jackie was at tent revival in Waynesville back in May. I am so thankful we were able to see her then. She called me India and I loved being with her. Jackie always brightened my day.

I believe Jackie is now in Heaven free from all the sickness that has plagued her life. We will miss her smiling face! I can not wait to see the completely healed Jackie in Heaven someday. I keep thinking of the song "On The Other Side of Time". Below is a link to the song sang by Gordon Mote.

Jackie is now "On The Other Side of Time"!

Thanks to my cousin Courtney for sending me the next two pictures.

One of Jackie's favorite people was my Uncle Danny Morgan. Uncle Danny could always make Jackie laugh.

A favorite family memory is from Thanksgiving 2011. Here is the link to our blog post from that Thanksgiving. Uncle Danny was serenading Jackie operatic style. She was rolling with laughter! Thankfully we caught it on video. The video most likely will not play on iPad or iPhone.

Please keep my Aunt Coleen and her family in your prayers! Our hearts are heavy for them during this difficult time! We will always love and miss Jackie!

Friends In Colorado

I mentioned yesterday that there are folks in revival at Castle Rock that we already know. It has been great to see them again and to be reminded that we live in a pretty small world after all.

Bro. John Lutz and his wife attend the church here in Castle Rock. We first met them in 2005 in Charlotte, North Carolina at Paw Creek Ministries Camp Meeting. Pastor Joseph Chambers had invited us to the camp meeting to do the special singing and to preach some during the day services. It was our very first Paw Creek camp meeting and it is also the meeting where we met our very good friend Bro. Kenny Morris from Ellisville, Mississippi.

Bro. and Sis. Lutz had been looking for a good Pentecostal church in the Denver area for 10 years. They found Bro. Chambers on the internet and they were blessed by his world wide ministry. They decided to attend the camp meeting in North Caroline in 2005. I met them there and found out where they were from and that they needed a good church. I told Bro. John there was a new church in the Denver area. It turns out that the church was seven miles from their home. They visited and quickly became part of the church.

Pastor McCoy and his family also attended the church in Denver. In the process of time, that church shut down and a few years later the church in Castle Rock began. 10 years after we first connected them with the church in Denver, we get to see them again as part of a good church! That is awesome!

When Bro. and Sis. Acuff walked into service Wednesday night I instantly knew that I knew them very well but that they were out of their correct geographical area. As soon as they said Tulsa I knew who they were. We met them several years ago at a benefit singing we did in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. They visited revivals at South Mission in Broken arrow and tent revival at Westside Holiness in Claremore.

We fell in love with them and their children during that time and we had wondered about them several times since they moved from the area. Their Pastor had told me they moved but I could not remember where. It is wonderful to see them again and get to be in church with them. They are super great folks.

Bro. and Sis. Acuff attend the church in Colorado Springs about an hour or so away but they have been in church with us both nights so far. They have been a blessing and we are looking forward to more fellowship with them this weekend.

Another friend showed up at church Thursday night. Pastor Thomas from Souls Harbor Church in Colorado Springs surprised us with a visit. Of course he knows all these folks well and came for fellowship but we are honored that he came while we are here. We sang and preached for Pastor Thomas in 2010 and it was so good to see him again.

It is great to see old friends and it is also great to make new friends along the way. That is what we are doing this week in Castle Rock, Colorado. Thank you for praying for us.

First Night of Revival In Castle Rock, Colorado

Revival is up and running at Liberty Holiness Tabernacle. We are so blessed to be with Pastor James McCoy and his family and church this week near Castle Rock, Colorado. This is a pioneer work that was started in October 1013. They are meeting in the basement of the McCoy's house and they are enjoying the blessings of God on their work. We love to help folks that are trying to do something for God so we are tickled to be here in revival.

Revival kicked off to a good start last night. God blessed through the whole service and especially in the altar service. Help us pray that God will encourage the saints and save the lost. We know He is able to do it.

We have known Bro. James for about 30 years and Sis. Tara McCoy was raised in Corwin church about a mile from where I was raised. W have known her about all our lives. It is great to see them out here doing a work for God. There are others in the church that we have been acquainted with and it is good to see them too. I will tell you more about some of them later in the week.

Thanks for reading today.

A Travel Day

It was a very sad goodbye when we parted from the Metzger family Tuesday evening. These folks are some of the finest in the world and we sure are glad God brought them into our lives over 10 years ago. Sis. Metzger and two of the girls Abigail and Jessica took us to the airport in Missoula and it was hard to see them go. By God's grace we will be back around.

Bro. Metzger and his son Peter worked Monday and Tuesday so I spent most of the day Monday resting and getting ready for revival this week near Denver. Kelly Jo and Odie went to town with Sis. Metzger and some of her girls. They did a little shopping (Odie's boots bit the dust), a little walking, a little sightseeing and a little eating. It sounded like they had a great time.

Kelly Jo and Odie spent most of the time Tuesday packing and visiting with all the Metzger girls.

Our flight from Missoula to Denver was an evening flight so we were in no hurry to get to the airport. We left the house about 6:30 and arrived at the airport in Missoula about 7:20.

We were flying with Frontier because they were by far the cheapest. The flight was very smooth, arrived early and the service was fine but they sure tried hard to make up some of the money they lost on the cheap fare. We had flown them once before years ago but lots has changed since then.

They charge for checked luggage like most every one does now but they also charge even more for carry on bags and for all the snacks and drinks. They even charge extra if you want to sit in a specific seat near some one else in your party. That fee was a new one on me.

Even with all the extras it was still cheaper than the other airlines and we arrived safely.

Pastor James McCoy picked us up at the Denver airport near midnight and delivered us to our hotel just a couple of exits from the church in Castle Rock. We are supposed to begin revival tonight and we are excited about it. This is a pioneer work less than two years old and we anxious to put our shoulder to the wheel and help all we can.

Thanks for hanging with us the last few weeks with limited internet availability. We should be back to daily posting now.
